Actually I've seen a decent amount of discussion about this topic. The plastic in masks takes centuries to degrade. It's an issue that is discussed - this guy is not being honest when he says environmentalists are worried about it.
Lol, this is what we call selective outrage. If you didn't care before then why care now? This is a rhetorical question by the way.

Curry's book due out in June https://judithcurry.com/2023/03/11/climate-uncertainty-and-risk-table-of-contents/
Let me guess - it will say climate change is overhyped and we can all just relax and not worry about co2 emissions.
you don't have to guess, you can take a look at her table of contents and summaries and judge for yourself
I don't need to guess you're right. And I don't need to look at the TOC either. Everyone already knows what the point of the book is.
That tweet quite obviously isn’t saying the world would end in 5 years. Anyone familiar with the concept of climate tipping points would recognize this. Also, who really cares if a 15 year old tweet quoted some climate scientist making a very dire prediction.
But we are still using fossil fuels five years later, so the world is doomed. Saying "who cares" is disingenuous given these dire predictions that never pan out are always used to advocate draconian measures in the present.
There are some who believe that we’ve already crossed a tipping point, but no I don’t believe that human civilization is irreversibly doomed. Not yet. It’s fine to point out what you consider to be mis-predictions, but do so honestly. That tweet you posted didn’t do so (portraying that tweet as her predicting the world would end in 5 years was clearly a lie). I stand by what I said — Thunberg quoting someone in a tweet as a 15 year old is not interesting. At least point the criticism at the scientist who was making the prediction or whatever it was.
