Is Westbrook the kiss of death for every team now? The Clippers look like a first round loss now that he's on the team.
It’s a miracle the Rockets went to the Second round and played as well as they did in 2019-2020 given how horrible he is. Dantoni was truly an offensive genius who helped Russ have a stretch after trading Clint into having almost a career stretch where he and Harden were just going on scoring frenzies
Yes. I’m not so sure he is a viable NBA player anymore but at most Westbrook should be a 8-12 minute a game end of the rotation player at this point. It’s too difficult to build successful lineups with him since he absolutely has to have the ball. His shooting is so bad that off the ball he destroys spacing and even when he does have the ball defenses can cheat off him to disrupt his passing, which is the only thing he still has as a positive to his game.
It's interesting to see how many teams have decided to bring in Westbrook, believing that things will somehow be different this time, despite evidence to the contrary. Then, there always seems to be a phase when these teams feel mystified that the results are not what they had expected. I have nothing against Westbrook personally, but the blind spot teams have about him is just strange.
Westbrook is one problem. The other elephant in the room is the Clippers gave up too much young talent when they signed PG and Kawhi. Two injury prone wings. Other than Zubac and Mann I don't see any young stars emerging. Age structure is out of control.
it's funny how CF's tried to convince folks here who knew westbrick was a loser that he was the championship piece for the rockets. He's so fast they said. westbrick being a loser is old news and was evident years ago This is what he brings to teams
Not really a fan of skip bayless, but he lays into Westbrook hard here. Pretty much nails everything that many posters on this board talk about when it comes to Russ
nonsense. ninja turtle breh is a multiple mvp player. he’s just misunderstood and misused. bet he’d be hof level if they use him at the wnba
Smart teams don't keep acquiring him; dumb teams beholden to superstar players do. Players like Paul George, LeBron James and James Harden don't seem to understand that playing with Westbrook is the kiss of death for any basketball goals they might have. I know it makes me sound like an old man, but it speaks to lack of competitiveness among this current generation of players. Hakeem, Jordan, Duncan, etc. would never have pushed to play with Westbrook because they liked him personally; they would've tried to convince other teams to take him on so they could beat them in the playoffs.
Poor Eric Gordon got tired of losing with the Rockets and finally got traded...only to immediately go on a losing streak. I mean, we’re still losing too, but it’s kind of funny and sad what’s happening over there
I think Harden deserves a helluva lot more credit for making Westbrick look serviceable than D'Antoni does...
Who will be the next stop on the Westbrick train? Maybe he can convince the Grizzlies to sign him next season since Steven Adams still speaks fondly of him.
Watched a couple of highlights, and man they were allowing Draymond to camp in the paint. A couple of them could of been 3 second violations.
I heard them mention the rule during the broadcast that I actually wasn’t aware of that you can’t be called for a 3 second violation if the guy you are defending has the ball. So Draymond was perfectly fine to camp in the paint while Westbrook had the ball on the perimeter.
yup. that's exactly why bigs who can't shoot, are the top of the key can be guarded by other bigs by sitting in the paint and just waiting
