couldn't agree with you more. I openly admit I should be pissed @Hakeem, but can't. A troublesome agent on the other hand.... THe front office has done it's job to perfection. If teh Rox loose/waive Hakeem, I think the backlash will be (relatively)minimal. ------------------ D'oh! (_8(|) - a thought on Hakeem leaving
You all keep mentioning that Dream, Moochie and others could easily fire their agent. Agents aren't fools, they have contracts just like the players do. I don't think that Dream can easily fire him without legal problems. Once the ink dried, he's stuck. ------------------
Fegan's job is to make his clients happy. If his clients want to fire him, then they are not happy. It is in Fegan's best interest to do whatever his clients want him to do or else news will get around to other players that he's a horrible agent. The point is that the players have control over the situation, if they don't like what's going on, they can tell their agent what to do, and the agent better do it if he cares about his reputation. ------------------ So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking, Racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
You're right Mobster. Nobody said he was doing a poor job, everyone is b****ing about him screwing the teams over to make himself an extra buck. He is the worst of the kind. He manages to get all his clients big bucks, but in the end, it cost owners more money, and in turn, it comes back down on the fans. Someone has to pay for the greed, and its you and I. ------------------ "Where there is a will ... I want on it."
Dan Fegan represents everything that is wrong in sports today. As does Scott Boras (A-Rod and Kevin Brown), David Falk (Jordan, Ewing, etc.), and Leigh Steinberg (Young, Rice, Vick, etc). Whatever happened to guys like Jerry Maguire? ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
A word of advice to all... When it becomes necessary for you to hire an agent or a lawyer, hire the most hardass MF you can find and let him his job. People will hate him not you , and you will acheive your advantageous outcome. Just be sure to pay your bill ! ------------------ I find my own ignorance amusing
Good point about letting the agent do his job. The point to me is that we have all watched Hakeem play some sorry basketball in the last few years, you seldom heard a fan and never heard from the mangement a bad thing about Hakeem. we owed him and that was called loyalty, well I think it is a two way street and by letting a disinterested party do the dirty work Hakeem is telling the City and Fans that he has no loyalty, that it is a one way street to him. I have reached the point with his meetings that I will be glad when he leaves and we can get on with building a team. Even if he was to sign with the Rockets now my feelings for him will never be what they were before. ------------------
