This is an interesting thread and more interesting because someone took one post from twitter. I thought like there would be multiple posts? I don't know this is disappointing. I lurk NBA sub sometimes and I find it's the opposite. Most of the posts about Jabari is he plays on a crap team and on a crap system and any post calling him a bust gets downvoted. For Green, most redditors seem to think he's a future all-star player. NBA general fans still seem to have a lot of hype for Green. One thread was made a month ago about which rocket had the best future, Sengun, Jabari, or Green and one of the top voted posts was "Luckily the Rockets have all 3." Too bad Rocket fans don't feel this way.
I like to watch the other teams broadcast too. Mostly because I don't like our commentators but also to see what others are thinking. Most of the other teams announcers think the Rockets are going to real good in the future because of the young talent they have drafted.
I've been saying this the entire time. The fan is the most reactionary and often times overreacts. It's why fans both overvalue and undervalue their own players because for most 'fan' the player either is a super hidden gem or the player is straight trash. Just rarely somewhere in the middle. Celtics fans were thinking of breaking up their duo not that long ago because the fan always overreacts.
Jalen as much as I like him aint getting 205M with what he has shown so far lol. I also dont think he'll be thick faced enough to demand a max without a career year next year. He hasnt even outplayed the bad version of Wiggins when he got his max extension.
The media circumstances are different. It is the most lenient in the league, the team could sleepwalk its way and the media wouldn't give pressure to the team. The fans aren't the ones who ask questions after every game, the media is.
Lol they really don't. They just don't say mean things. There is a difference. The best things they say about him are about his personality and that he got the **** end of the stick. That's about it. Nothing about his coaching acumen. What opposing commentators are you specifically referring to? They will go as far as criticizing the gameplan on the court. For example multiple times I've seen opposing teams call out that we are purposefully tanking by not staggering minutes of guys like Green, Sengun and KPJ and put out a 5 man unit that has zero offensive ability or how the ball always sticks to one player on offense.
I think Houston has the worst future. Mainly because their last two top picks aren’t very efficient or showing they are worth where they were picked. So we aren’t the worst. Whew. From a spurs fan i copy it what they think
Spurs fan: Ok. I don't think there's anyone on this board that can make the argument that PATFO would draft the Flash again over Sengun. PATFO ed that selection up 10 ways to Sunday and it's only gonna stick in my craw more as time goes on. Dude was CLEARLY the *Wright* pick. But PATFO got cute thinking they'd found another nephew in the bushes when in reality, all they had was a flasher in the bushes. Gotdamn it. Sengun is really good.
Spurs fan: Most of us recognize he should have been the pick and Houston has a live one. The rest of their team sucks, however, and they have a bad coach. Sengun was traded off by OKC, by the way. It was a clear miss. He runs funny though.
Spurs fan for not pick sengun: Yeah, the Spurs ed up a wet dream. I don't really understand how they blew this one that badly.
I’m gonna give Jabri till next season until I pass judgement. Does it bother me that he never worked out for us and it felt like we were unprepared to draft him on draft night? Yes, especially when u consider how far behind he is as an nba prospect relative to Paulo, Ivey, Murray and likely Chet. Over the long term he’s got the tools to be a difference maker, but wow does he need a lot of work. He’s actually regressed since the start of the season; something I never expected. hard to evaluate given the state of the team and coaching staff, but considering how talented guys like Duren, Sochan, Sharpe, Ivey and Murray are, anointing Stone a genius on draft night last year may have been premature. Like I said though, we need to see what Bari looks like next year. It always takes bigs longer to develop in the NBA.
Vecenie: The Pistons are in a better position long-term than any of the other four teams at the bottom of the league right now. I like both Cunningham and Ivey better than Jabari Smith Jr. or Jalen Green on Houston. Charlotte has LaMelo Ball, but not much else that has all-star upside. San Antonio is basically starting its rebuild right now. If the Pistons get lucky and end up with another top-two pick, they’re going to be incredibly well-positioned long-term to potentially be a title contender. But even with a pick in the No. 3 to No. 6 range, the Cunningham-Ivey backcourt combo along with the other younger players should allow the Pistons to have the kind of ceiling that you tear it all down like this for.
