Yes, it is very close to her position.

She is entitled to her opinion (Greta) but what she is advocating is not compliant with the reality of the world we live in - and doesn't really lead to any practical improvement in the environment.

Forgive me, but hadn't we already kind of determined this decades ago? The best energy policy is an all of the above one that adjusts (usually pretty slowly) over time as new information is brought to light.

I don’t know much about her positions, though I might get the book she put together to learn more about them.

She doesn’t seem as impractical as some. She recognizes the importance of nuclear, at least to some degree. Many on the left, who have a less scientific orientation, are reflexively dismissive of it.

Greta gets a bit of unfair treatment. She is put up on stage and allowed to be a punching bag for the opposition.

I respect that she can change her position based on new information (something partisans usually have a terrible time with). Also I do appreciate her cause. Regardless of her position, at least she cares about something. If she was my daughter, I would be proud of her. I dont understand why some treat her like a demon when most her generation are glued to a phone or gaming system while living in their parents basement until they are 40.

They resent her because much of her rhetoric is simplistic in the face of such a complex issue. Also, her "style" is confrontational and suggests a lack of maturity.

I don't think we have because neither side of the political aisle really follows this mantra.

I have seen folks on the left scream for the New Green Deal or nothing and I have seen folks on the right argue that Climate Change doesn't even exist.

The reality is that we are as splintered as ever and it shouldn't be like that - there should be a base that we can all agree on, but that doesn't serve either party.

Here's a better description of the protest. https://apnews.com/article/norway-government-greta-thunberg-3dbe15abc204f540711704f520bc4074

TLDR: The protest is not against wind power in general. The protest is against this particular wind farm which is built on reindeer grazing land important to the Sami Indigenous people in Arctic Norway. The Norwegian supreme court had already ruled in 2021 that these wind turbines violated the protected cultural rights of the Sami people and the permits are invalid. However, the windfarms still operate and have not been shut down or removed.

I personally don't think this is such a gotcha moment as some may think it is. If you support green energy and wind farms, it doesn't mean that you support every single instances carte blanche. In this case, the wind farms violated another ideal that she thinks is important. So she picked the one that she deemed more important in this case.

I can support nuclear energy, yet be against building nuclear waste disposal sites on sacred Native American grounds. It doesn't mean that I am against nuclear energy if I think there are better ways to do things.

Greta is 20 years old, which makes her older than Jabari Smith. She puts herself up on stage. She offers herself up as a punching bag. Any treatment she receives is treatment she brings on herself.

Who knew that people can have more than one value? This isn't remotely close to the trolly problem.

She has to figure out what is more important
Green energy so that the humans won’t burn the planet down
Or reindeer population that moved away from the wind farms

you can’t have both , Santa can get her a Tesla while driving up in a Tesla

We should go nuclear. But that it gets a bad stigma on both sides unfortunately

I’ll say one thing about Greta
She hasn’t attacked art works or messed with nba games with glue

    She’s got standards
