Likeable guy, maybe a decent assistant coach, but horrific as a head coach. It's time to move forward.
Oh do not worry, they will let him go in favour of Nix.... Even when both Green and KPJ are not playing we are still not playing through Sengun. I am pretty sure Boban had more post ups last night than Sengun did. So apparently we can pass to the post.
i think any of the 29 other current head coaches would not have stayed silent about that scrub walking over sengun and if we had any real legitimate local media covering this team, silass would be publicly called out for that and his 2-season trend of treating this kid like an unwanted b*stard child
Y’all know how I feel about Sengun and he’s awful defense. With that being said, Silas is dead ass wrong with how he treats Sengun. This team is bad and we’re tanking, so why bench him? He also needs to hold other players accountable
Silas treatment of sengun is simply weird. Man is so closed minded that he doesnt want to acknowledge the center position can evolved. He's dead set on having a traditional big man who's basically a copy pasta of the big tall/athletic archetype. In silas system only a guard can shine. Man played guard his college career, that's all he knows Smith should not b playing heavy mins unless the plan is to develop his stamina. Man needs a pg to set him up for the easiest open look possible to get his confidence up not nix taking the most shots. Poor usage of sengun. Too much mins for Smith without actual coaching. Team needs an actual pg, allows kpj a guy who never done it in his life to do it without having any qualification or earn it. No offense system still aside from kpj hero ball. I'm not surprised everybody looks like sht. Silas is truly the anchor that will delay the tank process even further.
Dame Dollar would’ve still gotten 71 even if Sengun played. Just last month Silas was getting criticized for lack of accountability, and now there’s this narrative that Silas hates Sengun when he benches him. If Sengun closed out the game, there’d still be unnecessary fire Silas threads created post-game.
His dad smiling down proud of him, knowing one day his son will break Paul Silas worst season record of all time.
Silas treatment of sengun is one of many issues the forum has with him. The lack of plays designed for Smith, the lack of discipline or accountability when someone fks up aside from sengun/garuba. The heavy load of mins to veterans and those who didn't need that much mins: Eric Gordon, c. Wood, mathews, nix, etc. The lack of actual coaching/adjustments during games. Green light to our ball chuckers, who aren't taught or reminded to take more efficient ones. The stupid a$$ smile regardless if we got blown out or barely lost. Man is always throwing folks under the bust instead of acknowledging his weakness and improving the team. Silas isn't a hc, he is a godlike tank commander. Not everybody can lead a team into being the shttiest one in the league what seems to b the 3rd consecutive season
Sengun is literally the only player Silas holds accountable. Nobody else really. Either it’s personal, which I doubt, or Silas believes that he is the only guy on the team who might respond to that type of coaching. Either way it’s a bad look from an apparently horrible coach. The double standard couldn’t be any more obvious.
Good post. As an assistant, he can create an offense that generates a lot of open looks. He's done that here. The problem is he's not good at adjusting or acknowledging that we either don't have the personnel to take all those 3s or that the wrong players are taking those 3s. The offense is KPJ/Jalen driving and dishing to Jabari/KJ/Tate/Sengun when it should be flipped if you want to actually make the shots. He can't adjust in game or lead men in any way. That's fine for an assistant...just not a head coach.
If I'm ALPI I'm demanding that Silas is fired or a trade. Just threaten to go back to Turkey. Especially after last night the way eubanks was going at him. I'd be pissed if I was Alpi for not going back in. Absolutely ridiculous.
I am almost sure that Silas is thinking Sengun is ruining his only shot as a head coach and if he had a decent center he would make this a play off team. Among all his talks, other than the angry Silas comedy show, he only showed emotions when talking about Sengun. They are all negative and quite strong. It is beyond weird.
The strategy is to tank, I guess no one can deny that so from that perspective I give Silas a break. But player development is quite bad under this coaching staff. Every player is doing their own damn thing and lacks direction on honing their strengths by playing strategic team ball. After this year's draft, if the Rockets continue this route, Silas needs to go. And it is nonsense on Silas's part to call out the only player who has shown an all-around potential to be a star under good coaching.
