If this was the Oliver Luck/Dom Kinnear Dynamo, then I would fully expect that they had unearthed a gem, and would have full faith that this would be a great hire. However, the unwillingness to spend, and inability to find and develop talent at all levels that has plagued this franchise over the last decade leads me to believe that this will be a flaming failure just like everything else they've done.
Agreed. This is a bad hire by a bad organization. Really had hope the new ownership was going to get them out of the bargain bin shopping but it appears that's not the case. Such a shame that the stands are going to be even more empty. Already hard enough going to a game at 7 pm during the summer. There's really even less of a point to go now.
Never heard of this guy, but it’s apparently the most expensive signing they have ever made, estimated $4.3 million. At least it’s something https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/official-houston-dynamo-sign-sebastian-ferreira-break-club-record
Saying this is the most they've ever spent is not something to exactly be excited about. It would appear they didn't overpay as Transfermarkt has him valued at $4.1 million. I guess we'll see if he's worth a s***. At least it wasn't another 3rd division Honduran.
Somewhat exciting news, I think this is probably the most high profile player the Dynamo have ever been linked to, Hector Herrera https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/sour...r-for-mexico-atletico-madrid-midfielder-hecto
This is definitely a move in the right direction. He's still starting for Atletico and would give a massive enthusiasm and a moderate respect boost.
Season is still young obviously, but this team looks.....ok? The closest thing to average they have put together in years. Maybe heading in the right direction finally.
I received a free MLS Season Pass from T Mobile and am actually looming forward to this season for the Dynamo. The midfield and wing players look like an above-average group with Carrasquilla, Herrera, Artur, Franco, Bassi, and Caicedo. Ferreira will be made more useful up top, though the attack and defense aren’t deep. There’s a chance we sneak into the playoffs this year.
Just a reminder, all the Dynamo games will be on the Apple TV streaming service. No more Local TV games. FOX will still show select National TV games. This is the first year that ESPN and Univision will no longer carry MLS games. Also, here’s the injury report on who’s available to play tomorrow’s season opener at Cincinnati:
Glad to see it on Apple TV this season, I can finally tune into some games Also, tons of turnover with the roster, at least dumping all the trash is an improvement. Trying something different is refreshing
