Wow. Unbelievable that he survived. I love snopes. http://www.snopes.com/photos/accident/carcrash01.asp
It had to be a 75 year old lady running a red light. Old people who are allowed to drive are simply accidents waiting to happen unfortunately. I cannot tell you how many bonehead moves I have seen old people make that make me question why they are on the road.
Poor guy, amazing that he lived. I found this quote comical in the article.... how exactly does the camera reduce crashes from people running red lights?.. it obviously doesnt work.
That reminds me, did anyone see the South Park episode where the AARP invaded the town (a la Red Dawn) because they were taking away all the senior's drivers licenses?? Funny stuff.
I saw that last night. That is where I saw some of those bonehead moves. No, I've seen some scary stuff out there.
Agree 100% I hate to say this, but I say it often: Old people shouldn't drive!!! I think everyone, upon reaching 60 years of age, should be tested yearly to continue driving.
Here's my idea or suggestion I've had for a while: After a certain age, say 70 or 80, start offering non-driving 'benefits' to senior citizens. Give them FREE medical care or other benefits to prevent them from driving. I respect the elderly, and a great number are going to be too stubborn to quit driving, but at some point, somebody has got to draw the line. At least this wasn't as bad as the guy who ran into the Safn Fran farmer's market last year and killed what, like 3 people including a 3 year old kid?
