We play the Spurs twice the first week of March, do we throw the games on purpose?

    March 4 and March 5. One is at San Antonio and one is in Houston. The spurs I'm convinced will not even try to win. That means putting out the worst possible lineups. Do you think silas is dumb enough and desperate enough to save his resume that he will try to avoid the worst record in the league 3 yrs in a row and actually cost us a chance at wemby by winning both games against spurs just to avoid the stigma of the worst record 3 yrs in a row permanently stained on his resume, or do you think stone or Tillman will step in and tell silas to throw the games?

    Personally I hope we win one ,lose one, just to stay one game behind the spurs. If we win both games that would be so idiotic it would be like the texans winning that last game against the colts purposely throwing away the number 1 pick in the draft . But if we lose both games I could see silver getting upset or suspicious we are tanking and handing the spurs wemby anyways..

    BTW, I think its rigged, I don't know how, but I think after this yrs draft and the spurs or warriors win wemby I think alot of casuals will start to be suspicious.

    What do you guys want, do you want us to win both against spurs, lose both, or draw?

    It is next to impossible to tank against each other. If we ran out a starting five of Nix, JC, Tate, KJM, and Boban the league would take our pick for sure. Both SA and HOU are just playing their young guys to unintentionally intentionally tank. Both games should be a suck fest. I expect the Rockets to win both.

    I know a lot of people hate tanking (I don't, I think we should tank for sure), but this is a rare time I think I'd agree and want to win the games.

    In the 2021 draft, it was CRUCIAL to have the best chance at a top 5 pick because I felt there was a big drop off after Barnes/Suggs.

    In the 2022 draft, it was CRUCIAL to get a top 3 pick (so any of the bottom 3 spots would have been okay with me).

    In this draft, only #1 and #2 matter. It's absolutely nice to have pick #5 over #7 because of trade value or just having more options in general, but it's Wemby/Scoot or bust this time around now. If we finish with the worst, 2nd to worst, or 3rd worst record, I'll be happy. We can't improve our odds over that for what we're hoping for.

    Other than Spurs, I think only Detroit is really a threat to be bottom 3 with us, and everyone else is in the clear. I say let them tank for worst record if they want to. It's time to start focusing on developing the guys we have. If we pop off 3 or 4 wins in a row, we can rest Sengun/KJ/Tate to bottom out again.

    At this point it almost impossible to have anything over the 3rd worst record. Which only impacts the 5-7th pick. It does not lower the odds for a top 3 pick. Simply the odds for Victor & Scoot is pretty much etched in stone at this point.

    This team doesn't need to lose on purpose, they do well enough losing when trying to win. More losses won't improve our chance at a top pick.
