Yeah, a good plan is by necessity a well thought out plan, which means you can anticipate, mitigate, and counter criticisms of the plan. A good plan also has multiple contingency plans tiered off of it depending on how reality evolves. If you can't explain it and you do nothing to adjust it as the days and seasons go by, it's not much of a plan. Hope is not a strategy and hoping for luck is unhinged.

I feel for Stone. He sure is patient with all the casual fan analysis!

The plan has always been painfully obvious unless you are a total moron.

I doubt that most people who post on a fan forum website while their team has had the worst record for 2.5 seasons could be called casual fans.

    Is the plan ->

    • cut salary down to 0
    • Put the Rockets up for sale.
    • Foreign/gulf Petro state buyer pays 3-5x Tilmans 2018 purchase price

That would be awesome if so, but I doubt it.

I would hate this, if the Bone saw shiekhs bought the Rockets I'm out. It hasn't really helped European soccer.

This is all about track record. The Spurs and Thunder have a track record of success. The Rockets under Tilman have been worse every year. Until we see progress people will doubt Stone. It's as simple as that.

I was wondering. There have been so many "sources" of Stone and the FO meddling with the coaches and the team. I could understand Silas bearing down and taking that given his public demeanor and how long it took to get his shot at head coach.

But I don't get why assistant coaches with some level of league wide respect, like John Lucas stick around through it, and say Lionel Hollins decided to come here despite what I'm sure he heard through his sources around the league.

I would think they get similar jobs at other teams with better corporate structure than is being reported as the case with the Rockets. Just feels incongruous to me.

anybody in this forum would succeed in making the rockets worst team as a gm or a coach. If one thinks that could be called a plan, then that is the moron.

    No, they wouldn't.

They would do dumb **** like trade for John Collins, or do something just for the sake of doing something.

I completely respect your opinion, but we are not watching the same basketball team. I am watching a team that isn’t NBA. The hole we are in isn’t something that gets fixed over the course of an offseason with a sh#t free agent market, or with trade assets that pale in comparison with other teams trying to rebuild.

I’m sorry, but this is a disaster. I’m frankly shocked by all the folks who think this is acceptable. Or engaging in magical thinking about some sort of super natural offseason that is gonna save everything. We are in a really bad situation.

tanking is not some genius plan. Anyone can tank. But it is a plan. Tanking for 3 yrs and not having much of a future to show for your tanking is straight up incompetent.

Who was the most recent Arab petro owner?

They have to forsake soccer and turn to basketball.

Not many teams would hire Stone as a GM outside of Houston. If any at all.

    He knows that.

It's a lenient environment for him to experiment in.
