She-Hulk was overall average with some good moments sprinkled in and an absolute garbage finale. If you went in expecting Ally McBeal and lots of man bashing it wasn't terrible except for the most garbage ending in the history of the MCU. Very female oriented audience imo. The critics definitely got it wrong though.
This one, right? I doubt we’ll get a directors cut from Disney but the extra scenes may be included on the Blu Ray release and I bet some enterprising nerd will splice them all together.
Seeing this tomorrow night, not the biggest Marvel fan but I'm glad this film is only 2 hours long....
the next major villain gets his introduction at the end of a Disney+ show, and then his 1st big screen feature in an Ant-Man movie with a character who’s seen as a weak joke and whose previous films have been light comedies…feels kind of weird, but I’ll see what’s up with this movie soon
Audience reviews on RT makes it seem like it's a relentless eyegasm of action with a flimsy plot. Not a chick flick lol. Prob hinged upon whether you like or hate the fx, which usually means it's received better on D+...
Maybe Avatar PS5 graphics while Ant Man PS4? Don't know until I watch, but there were complaints about the fx looking sub par like other Marvel Movies. I usually think it's good enough. BP1 was the most noticeable in fx quality.
Maybe if Disney started treating their FX employees better and not like some AAA gaming studio (Bioware) during crunch time they might see better results. Also this
In what feels like a different timeline ago, at July’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel chief Kevin Feige put the pedal to the metal when he outlined five Disney+ shows for 2023 — What If …? season two, Echo, Loki season two, Ironheart and Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Now, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Loki season two and the Samuel L. Jackson-led Secret Invasion are the only sure bets to debut this year. Even projects that wrapped months ago, such as the Hawkeye spinoff Echo and Wakanda Forever spinoff Ironheart, are unlikely to arrive in 2023 as the studio spreads out its content and tinkers in postproduction. And shows in development, such as Nova, are now on a slower path. I hope they keep What If... for 2023. It wasn't a great start but it had potential. Other D-list spinoffs can show up on Hulu. We can pretend it never happened on the MCU, much like a huge chunk of the Netflix shows that suffered the same problem... I hope all this quality dilution will redouble their efforts for making their Fox Marvel IP better, but that's really beating a dead horse for a far off future.
Looks like most if not all of the Netflix shows are going to be soft rebooted with the same actors on the Daredevil Reborn show.
I still like DC TV shows for lower budget, desktop FX material. Like what @percicles was saying, they gotta draw a line and quit watering down their mcu brand. It's at bud light status rn.
Just saw it. I honestly don’t get the review scores. It was good. Not great but much better than most of Phase 4. Spoiler-light comments: Spoiler The comments about it being a ‘Star Wars’ type film are spot on. I’d call it Star Wars with a touch of Tron, a pinch of Guardians of the Galaxy with the backdrop of old school pulp fantastical world sci-fi. Good: Action was good. Fights were good. Most of the CGI was amazing. It was funny but not as funny as Guardians or previous Ant-Man movies. Kang was awesome. Pacing was good. Plot was good enough, nothing ground breaking but standard action movie fare. Bad: MODOKS face looked like big-head mode from Goldeneye 64. Very reminiscent of She-Hulk where they couldn’t get the eyes right. But he wasn’t in a ton of the movie and half the time he had a face mask on. Michelle Pfeiffer's ridiculous trout pout. And no ex-con posse was probably the biggest crime. In a lot of ways they were the heart of the previous movies and they got zero screen time, not even a quick scene at the beginning. Ignore the critic reviews. If you like the MCU or Sci-fi action movies this is pretty good. I would put it in the middle of the pack of the MCU movies so far. Oh- the two post-credit scenes are pretty cool and are setting up big things.
Brief Spoiler 1: Cuts to an arena from above, then to a dark room. There are three Kang variants, one is Immortus, the other is Rama Tut (Google it) and another in some sort of super high tech getup, talking about how 'they' (probably the Avengers) are now touching the multiverse and will take everything that they (the Kangs) have. Tut asks how many Immortus called. He says 'all of us'. Cuts back to arena floor where Kangs are popping in through portals, then zooms out and the seats are all filled with different Kangs screaming and going bananas like they're getting hyped to fight. Thousands of them. 2. On an old-timey, maybe late 1800s stage with an old well-to-do audience, and there's a Kang variant with an old-school side-parted afro in a button up suit talking about changing time. Cut to audience and Loki and Mobius (from the Loki show) watching and commenting on what Kang is saying.
Saw it last night. Its trippy scifi that sets it apart from the usual Marvel stuff but the they couldn't setting on a tone. Light and goofy in spots then drop dead serious in others mainly due to Major's Kang. Rudd was his usual self, Pfeiffer and Douglas were sort just going threw the motions. Majors is really good every time he's onscreen and brings a lot of heft to the role which adds a lot to the movie. The action fun but some of dialogue was a bit groan inducing for my taste. Not nearly as bad as the last Thor movie, B-
Is bobby cannavale in this? I avoid his movies. I can't stand his terrible overacting even if it's a small role.
