I mean, he's right though. The future doesn't exactly look bright when your last two top draft picks are performing like the worst players on your team and you are STILL the worst team in the league. Perhaps they'll eventually turn into decent players, and maybe the Rockets draft Wemby, but right now the only bright spots on the team are Sengun, KPJ, and KJ Martin to a lesser extent.....that's suboptimal.
What you describe is something that's been going on for many years now. With players being able to leave college after one or two years or skipping college ball entirely what we are seeing is that players are coming into the league lacking what you described: fundamental skills and BBIQ. Back in the day when players stayed in college longer they were able to develop the skills and understanding of the game needed to make the jump to the NBA. That's just not the case anymore and it shows. Also, folks refuse to admit just how big a hole D'Antoni, Harden and Morey created here - they essentially turned the Rockets into an expansion team and it maybe year 5 before we see some real progress in terms of level of play on the court and in the standings.

We couldn't hide this Hinkie style tank job. We could have signed some lower tiered vets and shuffled the roster over the off season but we choose this abomination of basketball to make sure we had the best shot at Wemby/Scoot. However, he ain't wrong in alluding to the fact we don't have anyone surefire on this team.

Silas has coached this team three years in a row. 1st year was all vets 2nd year mix between vets and young guys 3rd year all young guys But yeah, lets act like Silas leading the worst team in the league and not showing any improvement is a new phenomenon. Lets blame it on the team being young....even though hes coached one of the worst teams in pro sports going on three years now before the team was full of kids.
Lol did you read what he said. There is a difference between saying the structure there is horrible and that there are no promising players here. None of those other guys said anything about the level of talent the young guys have. He said there are no promising players here. Hey Sengun fans, he's including him in "no promising players".
This would piss me off if he wasn't right. That's where the team is at the moment. So young, the only way to go is up...hopefully. Use these negative comments as motivation.
