    Government already tried to strong arm Tesla by excluding the Model Y from the tax credit and that majorly backfired on not only the administration but the entire rest of the industry. This charging thing is really not a big deal by comparison. Tesla has a few options, 1. charge non-teslas a higher fee to use the supercharger network, this is an added revenue stream and free advertising. 2. Tesla is getting to the scale where they can simply tell the government to F off here. $7.5b at this point is chump change when Tesla made close to $4b in profits in last quarter alone.

    It's impressive. There's probably a wait of several months, though. I'll have to check it out. We're in the market for a new SUV. This could work if our 75lb Labradoodle can fit in the back and this is actually under $50K. I'm skeptical about that.

    This is def one of them.

    The gold standard for me was the Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk... A freaking Jeep with 700+ HP -- fun to drive (once), but also a squirrelly deathtrap that felt like it had 4 wheel drum brakes from the 70s.

    No offense to your squirrelyass citified ideals, but it (my mom's expedition) comes in handy way more often than I expected. So does the long bed and quad cab on the pickup.

    Essentially US competitors can be boxed out for another 21 months, all depending on how Tesla wants to strategically open its chargers.

    China could very easily become the #2 exporter of all small vehicle transportation in the next decade.
