would it do any good for listeners of stations to contact infinity urging them to start using live feeds online?
I swear to God, Rich Lord becomes more unbearable with each passing day. "How did the Nuggets trade 3 draft picks for Kenyon Martin? Don't the salaries have to be within 15%?." My God, you earn your living covering sports. Do us all a favor and read up some on them before you go on the air.
A certain 6-lettered BBS poster starting with M and ending with l did this for about a 4 week stretch back in 2003 during Rocket's season. It worked...but it was on a 1-2 minute delay. But it's better than nothing...and you can only hold about 10-15 decent connections at once on cable....but maybe my cable just sucked. ...I mean, that guy's cable.
Also, I'm too addicted to John/Lance to listen to anything else in the morning. Vandermeer is probably my favorite. Rome, I'm either asleep, at work, or not near a radio recently during Rome. And I can't stand his interviews really anymore, I'd rather him just rant on something for 3 hours straight. Dan Patrick, I love listening to these two r****ds...I don't know what it is. Train-wreck effect I guess. Rich/Charlie. I'll listen, same with John/Lance, I'm too addicted to not listen. Matt Jackson, 2nd fav SR610 show. Between him berating Danvid Weathceli, and him being such a huge Rockets fan...I can't help but listen every night. I absolutely hate it when there's a Comets game on during Matt's show. I'm also a huge All Night with Todd Wright w****. . DO THE TUSSLE!
After reading this thread, and going back to bed...and suddenly it's 4am. Why oh why must we have this fishing show on there. Or Tom Tynan for that matter. :| Someone should invent a radio-TiVo so I can just listen to whatever I missed earlier.
I heard, now this is just a rumor of course and nothing I would ever do but through live365.com you can set up a broadcast station, for free, and use the live mic function but instead of using a live mic for audio commentary you use you headphone jack out and line in on your pc. You have to get an eighth inch dual male but they are only about a buck at Radio Shack. And you have to have cable or dsl for it to be reliable. Live365.com would have no problem with up to a couple hundred concurrent listeners. I heard. Of course I am not suggesting anyone do this because it is not technically legal but if someone did do it and kept it relatively quiet like to say, select people on a bbs, I wouldn’t think it would be a big deal.
And if for some reason someone allegedly did this, I would allegedly want to be one of the first alleged users that would keep this hypothetical situation on the DL.
I would hope that if anyone wanted to discuss this type of hypothetical broadcast in this forum that they would use the discretion provided by the email thingie next to people's screen name. I would naturally also like to be in this loop.
LOL If a certain person had a certa...uhm... Someone doesn't have broadband for the time being...But around Rockets/Texans season...that certain someone will certainly already have Roadrunner. A certain someone already has a certain radio<=>linein connection on this person's computer. This person uses it to record stuff from a certain radio station which may or may not be sports only (does home improvement count?) Ok, enough of this...here's a message to a certain Executive Producer at a certain radio station that may or may not be in the greater houston area and has the same numbers as a certain freeway/loop in Houston. You gonna be at Bud Plaza tommorow with John/Lance? I'm thinking of going to buy tickets, I'll probably go in the morning and listen to those knuckleheads for a while.
I've heard there's a way to set up Winamp/Shoutcast to stream through an online server, allowing more than the usual 5-15 people to listen. Maybe a certain person could also find some info on it.
