if 3 teams had passed on lebron that doesn't make him less of a prospect, and the reasons those teams passed weren't basketball reasons

Give me a mock showing lebron not #1...

Less of a prospect is irrelevant. That wasn't the claim being made.

    "Luka was the best prospect..."

He would have gone first if he was the best since Lebron.

How he has played in the nba is irrelevant because as a prospect that information was unknown and could not have influenced decision making.

If he was then he would be on the suns right now.

It was a silly point that was easily refutable. 3 teams didn't think he was.

What 3 teams would have passed on Lebron?

Also, if we're using nba performance and hindsight, there's Durant, Harden, Giannis, Anthony Davis, Tatum, etc. since Lebron...

Luka is among them but I don't put him clearly better than someone like Durant.

every podcast i listen to had luka as the overwhelming number 1, in his own tier. Mock drafts try to predict what people will do, not what they should do. Anyway, this is pointless, everyone views prospects differently. For me, luka is the 2nd best prospect i've seen in the last 20ish years in terms of just my predraft view

I think everyone is trying to envision the team’s next franchise player and he is not on this roster currently and that is perfectly fine. Hard to believe Jalen can be that guy due to the fact he give you absolutely nothing when his shots are not falling. Harden was at least a facilitator on off nights.

That's why that type of player gets drafted (Paolo, Sengun) highly even though they're usually huge reasons you lose playoff series' down the road (bad defense but its ok because playmaking). No one knows if the team has a Top 7 player because they're still children. I do know that very few people have been able to score like Green has so young. But he needs to get more serious or he'll just end up a better Jamal Crawford.

It's also foolish to think that Sengun/Green/Jabari don't have incredibly high upside. Give me any of Victor/Miller/Scoot and get rid of Silas and Stone and we'll be in business. It's all on Bubba Gump though.

    His name is Alperen Sengun.

The Lakers also saw enough from Kobe in his 2nd year that they were willing to move Eddie Jones relatively early in the following season.

You really think he can win an mvp? And be a top 3-5 player in the league?

Fair enough. Obviously I don’t think there’s even a 1% chance, short of him developing a dirk level jumper and improving his defense massively but nothing that’s realistic

I don't think it's a stretch to say the 21 draft (Mobley? Wagner? Barnes?) is looking worse than the 18 draft (Doncic - Young - SGA - Bridges - Ayton - JJJ)

There's obviously time for the 21s to catch up depth wise but probably no Luka caliber player in the draft.

We need an organization that will hold Green accountable, right now there is no such structure to do it. Frankly, I don't see this happening with Fretita owning the Rockets. He is just a moron when it comes to sports, outside of hiring Sampson at UH.

Ah, podcasts... like who? I'll check the transcript because I don't believe you that someone heralded as a once in a generation talent gets passed over by 3 teams.

Durant was passed over by 1.

You can just admit you were projecting your opinion and not a consensus.

Luka wasn't Lebron, Duncan, or Victor...

Yes absolutely they see no flaws in Sengun. And I argue that Sengun’s value and popularity is at its highest and it may be time for the organization to discuss trading him.

Not a superstar, and the Lakers traded him and brought him back once he had developed into pretty much what KPJ is now.

Dunc’d on is the one i listen to most, they had luca as the number 1 guy. Obviously i had him #1 in his own tier. Doesn’t matter if you believe me or not, I certainly don’t recall seeing anyone anywhere say the kings taking bagley over luca was a good decision before it happened or when it happened.

I'm not saying Green is Kobe's caliber. But Kobe did have the luxury of coming off the bench in his first two seasons on a good veteran team with good coaching.

Green was thrown in the water and swim with a bunch of clueless kids with clueless coaching.

I don't remember a team with so many under-21 (with less than 2 years NBA experience) players in the rotation playing heavy minutes.
