Too bad, these two pairs are in different conferences. Looks like some people are extremly high on Wade, and rather have him than Tmac. Have a look here: http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=260423&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
Not much of a sample, canoner, especially when you consider our own poll, about who to take as point guard (and they all signed with other teams, lol!) has a current vote count of 3296.
tough one. wade is actually REALLY good. and i have no illusions of Yao being close to Shaq. so... I guess I'd say Wade and Shaq too...
I really don't see why some people are so high on Wade. I mean, yeah the guy is a tremendous talent, but I haven't seen anything out of him that i didn't see out of...say, Steve Francis in his rookie year. Yet people constantly bash Francis, but all of a sudden Wade is better than T-Mac in some people's eyes? It just goes to show once again that Francis is one of the most hated on players in the league.
i mean i'd take francis / shaq over tmac / yao too, if that makes you feel any better. also... Wade is not a PG. for a rookie shooting guard, that ratio is OK. check out Carmelo's, I don't know it but I'd imagine it's no higher.
Wade was primarily a PG last season once Caron Butler came back from injury. There was a portion of 20 games or so where Rafer Alston was the starting PG, but once Butler came back, they went to a lineup of Wade, Eddie Jones, Butler, Odom, Grant. So that ratio does have to improve.
Odom handles a lot of balls on the team when Wade is the PG. Let's see what is going to happen this year.
Actually I think Yao will be close to Shaq this coming season, and pass Shaq the season 05-06. He will dominate in a different way though.
Wade? You mean that Francis lite? Their styles are extremely alike, except SF is better on almost all aspects. I take Yao & TMac any day. We will at least split two games next season.
Wade is overrated! You guys were dogging Steve and all of a sudden you guys are applauding Wade, a Steve without flair.
T-Mac is MUCH better than Wade. There is no way in hell Wade can drop 30ppg with a good % over a whole season. T-Mac's asst/to ratio is better as well, and hsi rebounding kicks ass. Don't forget that Wade will never be a damn good defender because he doesn't have the frame to do so, but T-Mac was and could be excellent defensively. The gap between Yao and Shaq is more than made up by the gap between T-Mac and Wade. I'd say it's a tie right now. Miami have a very weaks upporting cast, we don't, and we still have our full MLE and TE to spend. T-Mac just had his worst season ever. Just think about that for a sec.
Dwayne Wade is quickly becoming the most overrated player in the league after the playoffs he had last year. Very nice young player who I would love to have on my team, but even Steve Francis is far superior. To insinuate that there isn't that great a gap between Wade and T-Mac is beyond ridiculous. I just don't think some of you realize how good McGrady is and how bad his supporting cast was last year without Armstrong and Gordon Giricek. I remember a game last year at Denver where T-Mac had 50 and like 8 or 9 threes. It basically got the point where you knew that if he got the ball, it was going in. He was pulling up for 3's, driving around Carmelo, posting up Lenard and Barry, there was nothing Denver could do. The only problem was his teammates were so pathetic they even had trouble getting the guy the ball. And late in the game, as Denver swarmed him with triple teams, his teammates could do nothing to make them pay. This was Tracy McGrady's season last year. He IS the most talented player in basketball and if Yao Ming continues his growth curve, the two will form the most dominant pair in basketball.

He ended up with 62 points. 62 Freakin points!!!!!!!
I predict that at least one game this season, TMac will have 50+ points and Yao will have 10 assists. I was going to cut down on watching nba during my first year at law school, but it will be really hard to not watch the rox once the season starts (not to mention the election, ugh)
