Isn't the discussion around Vanderbilt and Beasley going out as well? My guess is that the Lakers get Vanderbilt, Beasley and DLo. Jazz get Russ (plus maybe a young guy from Minny and/ or LA?) plus picks Wolves get Conley and Beverley The questions is all around the young talents/ picks going out. Vanderbilt was said to be worth 2 seconds Beasley probably is worth a first What is DLo worth compared to Beverley and Conley? They seem to want to move on from him, so perhaps that is a wash, or would they throw in a Josh Minnott or Nathan Knight to Utah? I imagine LA would be sending 2x seconds (Vanderbilt) and one of their firsts, and potentially Max Christie??
I hate that there always seems to be a movement within the league to always improve the Lakers I think if you looked all the most one sided trades in history Lakers would probably have most of them and are rarely even on the bad side of one Rocket River

There are some teams or markets that need to survive in order for a league to thrive. Los Angeles and the Lakers are examples. It is what it is.

These "add a 2nd or 3rd true big man" trades & buyout pickups are great up until the playoffs when that guy isn't in your top 9 and begins a full time cheerleading role.
That's going to be interesting. I feel like nothing the Lakers do works out these days, but in theory getting 3 quality rotation players for Russ and adding some solid shooters in D-Lo, Rui and a pretty damned good shooter in Beasley - I mean that really ought to be what they needed. Especially when you throw in a defensive dog like Vanderbilt. On paper, they ought to be pretty good now.
Of course not. Westbrick was the main reason they were losing close games. The Lakers only won 1 game when Russ played in the last 3 minutes and the game was within 5 points. When he was benched in the final 3+ minutes in those close games the Lakers are 12-9.

The Lakers weren't as bad as their record. They just couldn't close out games. This trade gives them a greater margin for error.
