As I said, I don’t know him but I trust the judgement of Clutch to have him and Jackson Gatlin have a large role in facilitating the conversation. So I give him the benefit of the doubt but normally I’d be skeptical of any of us presenting it without the “take it with a grain of salt” de-formalizing tagline. Mostly because we’ve had so many phonies here in the past.

Fertita is going to be paying role players near franchise player prices this summer.

Has anyone done a welfare check on Stone? He has been hiding in a bunker under the Sam Houston toll road for months and didn’t even come up for air after John Wall clowned him and Silas melted down like Jimmy Stewart in Its a Wonderful Life.
My guess is he is just sending out text messages a couple times a week and mixes in a zoom meeting once a month.

As others have said , Williams is expiring . A 28th pick is not necessarily what we want . And tates salary is pretty small. He's already making less than Gerald green.

That trade doesn't make sense for us. Now , I love tate , but if you can move Williams for a 1st and do something with those 2 firsts... maybe I'd budge . But idk what we'd want to do.

To be clear, no one here is saying throw him a near max, but what Grant extension number would people be comfortable with?

If the number is say $15m per., is that fair market for his prime (age 24)? Something people can sleep at night.

I'm more concerned if our GM threw all the cap room on someone like D Lo.

LAL trying to snatch Conley from UTH. Pacers re-up on the Myles Turner. OG not likely coming here. Several of the nice mid pieces are getting moved off the board.

Like Tate was last year, Grant is actually underpaid ($4m) this year. He's looking for fair value on his extension. If you get him on a nice contract, he's still an asset.

He's not Jarret Allen level, but situation is looking similar, where solid mid pieces are being passed on, because of fear of paying extension.

I wouldn't even ask Boston for a 1st Rd pick, I'd even consider giving them a 2nd Rd pick. If the deal is true, it's a no brainier. Why don't we want an actual 40% 3pt shooters who is available near the timeline where Green and Sengun is getting into their real evaluation years: 3rd/4th. To see if they can actually be the core.

Have to start load up on assets for pivot year. Get him on the team, extend offer after the summer if you have to.

Grant is better than Tate. He's more valuable around the league than a KPJ. Team should be doing a Morey and accumulate asset. Have to have nice pieces to keep trading up.

Yes, he definitely does this. I have to drop off when he does.

reddit is also correct about him being sensitive. He’s one of those guys with the tough act “nothing bothers me”, but then he’ll mention guys on Twitter who bother him every episode of rocketswatch. It’s like, dude, we don’t really care about your beefs with rockets Twitter, move on. Quit trying to win arguments with guys who aren’t even there.

one time he spent like 20 minutes talking to Gatlin about how depressing Rockets Twitter is to him….lulz.

And him comparing the NBA to his pick-up games happens a lot, more than how DD used to talk about his YMCA games. It’s like how Bullard would talk about his games, but at least those were actual NBA games….:D

But what’s really annoying is he’ll constantly interrupt ppl. Like, ugh, Clutch was talking. Clutch is so patient and tolerant.

Gatlin is quite the entertainer, though. He’s a young pro at this. Keeps the topics moving in a fun way.

I don’t think Stone puts in 40 hours of work per month… let alone 40 hours a week. This dude is a ghost along with Mr. shut up and listen….

it’s F5 season and it’s the quietest it’s been around here in a long time. This roosh rumor is one of very few morsels which is sad … it also indicates how inactive, incompetent, and inadequate this terrible organization is.

Williams expiring deal is why they are including a pick. Tate is on a great multi year contract.

Is this Twitter bro someone with reliable sources?

This doesn’t seem like something the Celtics would have done.

    • Forward Jae’Sean Tate is another player on the roster who has drawn interest from teams, including the Suns, Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards, team and league sources said. The Rockets aren’t looking to trade the 27-year-old forward who is internally regarded as one of the most important pieces of this youthful roster — but as is the case with any player, if there was a “can’t-turn-down” type offer, it would be considered, those sources said. Tate is highly valued within the organization because of his attention to detail, playmaking ability, unselfish play style and most importantly, his defensive intensity and versatility. He’s also seen as the bridge of sorts — connecting the rebuild to the future and how they envision the roster in the coming months.

I’d take a chance. I’d prefer the FRP be a few years out when it might be handy. After this year’s draft and we keep KJM, Tari, and possibly KPJ at small forward there is no need for Tate. Williams at say 15M is a good sign with a Tucker like role player coming back. He is a much better shooter and probably even better defender than Tate. I doubt Boston is really trying to trade him, given how important he was in the playoffs last year. He is also the kind of player whose value gets greater during the playoffs where defense and clutch shooting is key.

important pieces? I love Tate, but we got nothing. Nothing. There is no culture, there is no bridge. We got nothing but Sengun.
