Why? Because he won't make any change that puts our lottery odds in jeopardy? Ownership is doing exactly what they should be doing.

Do any of you who make these whine threads and whine post not understand the bottom four teams essentially have the exact same record? The lottery will probably come down to the last week of the season and look what happened to the Texans under disturbingly similar circumstances.

All I want to know is when do the people who say "at least we're not as bad as the Kings/Knicks", finally realise Tilman will lead this team to that level of irrelevance and hopelessness?

Some of us could see it years ago, others taking a little longer to catch on.

What should he have done when he inherited a 65 win team a hamstring injury away from beating the greatest basketball team ever created?

Lol @ blaming Tilman for players missing shots and defensive assignments. But I guess it helps y’all sleep or something…

does worst really apply between only two things though? Alexander won 2 titles in 24 years I'd say Fertitta still has time especially if this tank job pays off.

You think he should have ASSUMED Chris Paul would bounce back? Because NOBODY around the league thought he would be anywhere close to a 50M/yr guy. Context matters. What did Tilman do to kill that team? He didn’t sign Ariza. Now CP3 goes back and says we should have kept him…but why? Has Ariza played any meaningful minutes since that season? Was he a 15M/he player? Sure didn’t look like it in the playoffs when he couldn’t buy a three and KD was lighting him up.

Tilman and front office were right not to sign Ariza for that price. Professional players blaming an aging role player’s absence for their collapse is pretty darn pathetic, imho. Looking for blame everywhere but themselves.

So after not signing Ariza and seeing CP3 play the second year, where he looked like he couldn’t play on the AARP team, we gambled, at the behest of our star player, and traded for Westbrook. Our star player didn’t like that anymore, so we traded for Wall — because our star player’s desires, and the subsequent granting of those wishes left us with no assets to improve or move off those major contracts (CP3/Westbrook/Wall).

That's more on Harden. Bad deals were made to keep him happy, and then he bailed anyway. At that point, tanking was really the only option.

And the world record for shortest turnaround from championship contenders to the laughing stock of the league goes to... drum roll please...

The guy who did nothing wrong!!!!

You choose to ignore the fact Tilman is on record as saying the Westbrook deal was him. Also the insider stating Morey advised Harden he wasn't sure the deal could be done, and Harden being fine with that.

But I guess it helps y'all sleep or something Patrick.

Actually, I think you may be right, Tilman makes great decisions.

That's why the CEO didn't hightail it out of here.

That's why the GM didn't hightail it out of here.

That's why the head coach didn't hightail it out of here.

That's why the superstar didn't hightail it out of here.

That's why players who were recently on the team rave about their experience here.

Oh, wait. The opposite of literally every single one of those things happened.

    Superglue that hamstring back together?

Yeah, Tilman blew it with the financial restrictions on that team but since he has pulled his head out of his ass and allowed a proper rebuild .... Or would you prefer Les who kept the team .500 and no chance to win in the post season while picking 14th every draft.

Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris, Jeremy Lamb, BeWell, Terrence Jones & Sam Dekker say hi!

I understand where you're coming from.

I however think a few years from now, people will be begging for 9th seed finishes.

This isn't a simple fix of insert good players = success.

This entire organisation is a top to bottom dumpster fire with Tilman at the helm, and that stench will have far reaching ramifications.

I tend to think most of this is a symptom of the losing part of tanking.

Talk to me about Tilman & Stone after next offseason .... if things are still a dumpster fire I'll join the pitchfork brigade, if they are a .500 team the pitchfork brigade will owe them an apology.

My feelings of Tilman have been steadfast for years, and not a result of the past couple of seasons of losing.

But will graciously welcome you to the pitchfork committee in due course!

Name me an owner who wasn’t forced to sell their NBA team or didn’t die to change ownership in the last 30 years

Oh yeah Les sold the team cause he didn’t want it anymore and left the city and state

Alexander serves rockets as his golden egg, while Tilman seeing it as last piece for his jigsaw board of 'tilman entertainment', a credential.
So the former kept getting the most outta it, the latter jUST 'i wanna it', 'it's my souvenir'.

Guess there is Fertita only Fans here as well. Twitter is full of them, making amazing mental gymnastics to defend the leadership team.

The point is you could have the exact same results you have today, without putting your fanbase through one of the worst 3 year stretches in professional basketball.

And even if you believe this is necessary, then there is a whole debate about the worthiness of tanking vs alienating your loyal fanbase. The on court product does not need to be as bad, it's clearly hurting the investment made in previous drafts.

Well Les sold the team because Yao left and he had no more Chinese money coming in

He probably wanted that balloon over Montana to be next to our championship trophies at his Florida house

Les had so much pride that when we got Chris Paul , all he talked about was Yao Ming’s Jersey retirement ceremony and how many people in China was going to watch it

Les had so much pride he sold the team when it had its best roster

Les had so much pride he took the Rockets championships and moved them to Florida

still no answer on which owner in the nba sold their franchise voluntarily in the last 30 years without any pressure from racial scandals
