When are we going to start criticizing Rafael Stone?

I wonder how the front office will handle damage control with John wall airing out stones/tilman dirty laundry.

 

If Silas is still here on January 20, I will start to criticize Stone. Maybe before then.

Stone didn’t pick the right coach. So ultimately it’s his fault. Tilman has been taking Ls since Covid hit. But I find it interesting how he put the money up to help UofH be great and not do the same for his own professional team in the H.

 

If Stone is meddling maybe he did pick the right coach (for him).

 

The full story isn't out, I guess only Wall would be the one that was trigger happy with the mouth.

Ultimately the defense will be "we're tanking" and lets see what he does next season. As of right now, the Sengun trade is his sole win as a GM, he has given us nothing to think he is good at this. The Eason pick will probably end up as a big win, but still up in the air now. Any schmuck with an internet connection could have made the Smith and Green picks.

He was never gonna get good pick value for Harden, so I don't hold that against him. However trading for Oladipo was a fail, trying to extend Oladipo was a double fail, flipping him for almost nothing was a triple fail.

There's simply no reason to have any faith whatsoever that when it's time to build a winning roster he will be good at it, even in the unlikely scenario we win the lottery next season.

I have to wonder if you are watching the games if you make that statement ..... these dudes are just downright bad at basketball.

In all honesty, the only reason this thread is alive is because the team isn’t ready yet and we are used to winning basketball in Houston. It’s been like that for almost 20 years even with the dragic scola and lowry teams we were competitive. This team is finally going through an actual REBUILD. We didn’t land #1 in either draft and drafted the best player available in both. Yes franz is better right now but who wouldve taken franz at 2? Yes it looks like mathurin is better than jabari right now but who wouldve taken mathurin at 3? We didn’t land Cade or Paolo. Maybe Stone could’ve sacrificed assets to get #1 in both drafts and select both….
