Rather than committing to giving Alpi the ball and letting him cook, he allows Nix to play the same minutes, shoot more, have the ball more, taunt the opponent early in the game only to be embarrassed later, lets everyone "have their turn", then, after the game, talks about "probably exploring Alpi to KMJ a little more".

    Silas is useless.

I don’t mind that quote. A double big PnR is not something the NBA does much at all, mainly because it’s easier to switch. You have to compare that to other uses of KJ —> eg as weak side cutter for Sengun. So, this type of PnR being a later addition to play-calling seems natural for any coach.

Fair enough. I took it more as exploring the Sengun-KMJ connection in general, rather than that specific play.

I also don't think of KMJ as a big, rather as a SG/SF.

he is not any coach hes supposed to be an offensive genius...LOL
I also thought the goal is to win and devote to excellence and not just be like any other nba team...
cant wait for this team to be moved outahere...the fanbase is defeatistic and clueless, they 100% deserve silas malpractice

The "Alpe" spelling just seems silly to me.

I believe Spalone and Alperen had a misunderstanding. Because Alpe is NOT a thing at all. I can elaborate how but lets just say that Alperen meant 'Alpi' rather than 'Alpe'.

Because it's pronounced Al-pee and in Turkey/Europe, you would spell that Alpi.

Alpe would sound like Culpe. The final vocal would be silent. That's why what Feigen wrote made no sense.

well, maybe it's just that Alpe is the Americanized pronunciation . . . kind of like "Jesus" in the Big Lebowski

When I met Mr. Feigen, I mispronounced his name - sort of. It's a German name, so I pronounced it the German way:

    https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/93/De-feigen.ogg

    He corrected me...

His pronunciation of his own name was like this:

But I just saw that there are plenty of people in the US who pronounce their own same name the way I did:

So maybe he doesn't even get his own name right lol.

OK. I listened to the interview, so didn’t consider it a general comment. The question and answer were specific to “PnR”, and we’ve scene plenty of Sengun to KJ connections, already. They were discussing something new that was added.

and fwiw, the first PnR, Martin was guarded by Bucher, a PF. The second one he was guarded by Barnes. Both those guys Toronto is willing to use to switch onto Sengun. KJ slipped the picks, and surprised them. But I wouldn’t count on the ability to feast on a KJ/Sengun PnR often, vs other PnRs/actions with KJ being a weak side cutter threat.

stop with the nuances...save me the glorified learned expertise when our guys wont even pass him the ball LOL

Just put Sengun on the ball its not like he cant always find a solution even if triple or quadruple teamed

Just give Alpi the damn ball, the same way you would let KPJ have the ball 6.9 minutes per game (12th in the NBA). Better things happen when Alpi has the ball (currently 2.1 minutes per game) than when KPJ has it.

    Simple.

LOL its the fluff talk to distract from the real issues of negligence and incompetence of which feigen is both enabler and benefactor

    loooooollololl!!!
I dont think alpi could have held the ball for that long even if he were to play 48 minutes a game because he always finds solutions quickly!!!
