doesn't derek anderson play the point, too...

What are they gonna do with NVE, Stoudamire and Anderson...

I say send over Anderson to the rockets & we give them the TE + Filler.

Actually Derek Anderson is versatile enough to play the Point, Shooting guard and SF spot. The guy can be a usefull addition to the Rox, only if his fragile body holds up.

DA plays the 2 spot when he is healthy enough to play. This is a good pickup for the Blazers for what they gave up. Dale Davis is a shell of his former self and wasn't getting much PT last season. I think this is more of a financial move for the Blazers than anything else (at least that is the speculation here in Portland).

I agree.... as you know Paul Allen has finally decided to stop taking on Bad contracts and make wholesale changes. With Nick and damon both coming off the books, the blazers clear something like 25 mills just right there.

so in my eyes, this puts claxton as the frontrunner for houston point.

Golden State was already loaded at the point guard slot, and are still in the same boat. Now, they can deal Claxton to us for the Trade Exception and get some of the salary relief. Dickau will be a solid backup and could be groomed to take over after dfish.

Van Exel is all washed up. I saw him play in oakland last year a number of times and it wasnt pretty. He is on his last knee and he wont hold up any longer. With his knees hes a backup PG at best.

IMO, it seems that Portland and Cleveland are about to make a trade. SAR for Big Z.

    Portland:
    PG: NVE, Stoudemire, Telfair
    SG: DA, Woods
    SF: Patterson, Miles
    PF: Randolf
    C: Big Z, Ratliff

    Cleveland:
    PG: McGinnis, Snow
    SG: James, Wagner
    SF: Williams
    PF: SAR
    C: Battie

    NVE moved again... Dickau anyone?

NVE was shipped to Portland for Dale Davis and Dan Dickau. Now Gstate has 3 pgs. They are talking aobut if he makes the team. If they cut him I'd give him a shot here.

I would much rather give the two guys we have a shot, especially Gaines.

so golden states starting line up

    dale davis/eschmeyer/cliff/foyle/Andris Biedrins
    Andris Biedrins/foyle/troy/cliff
    dunleavy/richardson/jones/pietris
    richardson/pietris
    fisher/dickau/claxton

hmm, they got some depth, but still aint enough to make playoffs in west IMO.

Let's make a run at Speedy. Best back up point in the league, at least up there with Hudson and Armstrong.

He's better than Jones or James, IMO.
