ABC = James. That's Anyone But Charlie. What I have seen of MJ I have liked, but -- he seems to thrive in short bursts. Starting? is he ready?
james is great at pressure defense, he gave jason kidd all kinds of problems james seems like the best available fit for this team, i say we sign him..we are running out of options
good three point shooter... I picked him up when he was with the Celtics on my fantasy team. He had a EIGHT 3 pointers in a game once I would love to have him in a Rox uni !!!
First choice would be James or Jones if we aren't trading for someone. But I'd rather stand pat than get Ward, Snow or NVE.
Sign him up! James is a solid player. I like him. And he REALLY pushes the ball up the court. That's what I like best about him. If we can get him at a good price 3yr/10M, then I say go for it. I really feel James is very underrated. He isnt a "name" player like Derek Fisher but he is younger and does just about the same stuff and at a fraction of the cost.
I agree, Deuce, except for the part about James being younger. I was surprised to see he's 29. (Same age as Fish). Weird. He's only a 4th year player. Was he floating around Europe or Canada or whatever for a few years? Age doesn't matter THAT much, though, because, hopefully, we only need him as a plug for a year or two until a more long-term option becomes available. And if the price is right, this sounds like a winner.
Bring him in if he's a tenacious defender with decent game. The D starts at the pg and we need a player to set an example. When the pg plays tenacious D it's a good example for the rest of the team.
Sounds like a POSITIVE to me. Sounds like he may appreciate the opportunity more than some HS or college 'stud'. Give me a worker, one with a chip on his shoulder. Give me a guy with a Point to prove!
How do James' numbers compare to Damon Jones? I thought Damon Jones would be a good fit for the Rockets. He got nearly the same number of assists per game as Francis in about half the minutes with minimal turnovers. Just wondering how the two compare.
The other coach for my AAU Boys team is related to Mike James. Mike is planning on visiting Houston within the next few weeks, but I dont know if it has anything to do with the Rockets, it may be just to visit family. It's funny, because I was just talking to him (the coach) last night about the possiblity of gettting Mike to come here.
Agreed. I love those kind of scrappy players. Just wanted to point out that while I think James is a solid, affordable, best bang for the buck option, it's not quite true that he's a young guy who will be with Yao and T-Mac for years and years to come. But that's okay. Given the talent available, the inflated contracts, the cap, and so on, James absolutely makes sense and then we reload in a couple of years, if necessary.
I first took notice of James last year while playing FNBA. Caught some games when he was playing for Boston where he was playing pretty good. His shots looked smooth, and he's definately a big man for the PG spot. Got a couple steals as I can remember in one game so he can definately play some D. I suspect he's coming into his own being at the middle stage of his career and the fact that he's not TO prone makes him a winner choice to me.
And if we somehow get an upgraded PG next summer, then with a reasonable contract, MJ would still be practical as a backup (with Lue moving on).
Mike James and Calvin Murphy b****es!! b****es!! Show calvin your t*tties!! But Mike that's my daughter!! OKay...that was out of line but it was funny to me
