It's been awhile! Silas won't be back next year. This is the last year of the full blown rebuild and we're back to competing next year. Some names thrown around are people with recent head coaching experience (like Frank Vogel amongst others)
Or maybe everything is going according to plan (their collective plan) .... In that case, everyone can stop crying about firing Silas or Stone.
ch44, thank u for the info. I definitely feel better about moving on from coach Silas in favor of someone with more head coaching experience. But what about college head coaching experience? Are we considering established college coaches? Can we get Jay Wright out of retirement?
Sure dude…doubt their collective plan was to have the worst record in NBA history for likely a guy named Amen Thompson shooting 20% threes in a slightly better than high school level amateur league. You’re the smart one Corrosion and the multitudes of others on this board are just wrong.
Stephen Silas as Rockets head coach... 48-155 (23.7% winning percentage) For 203 games coached, this is the worst record of all time.
Oh lawd. We’re gonna get another Lovie Smith situation where the man (tries) starts winning games as he’s headed out the door, screwing the franchise. Hopefully the Rockets have told him nothing.
bro Silas put in Boban in a drop against Darius Garland!!! Destiny was riding a bike for 48 minutes! Silas couldn't win a game if he tried! all these wins are by accident.
Appreciate the ch44 bomb! Glad Silas won't be back. And I think it is a good thing that the next coach has some HC experience like Vogel. Wonder if they are also looking at Kenny Atkinson, Quin Snyder or perhaps maybe even Ime Udoka?
At least when it’s all said and done he’ll have a permanent spot in history and a place in the guiness book of world records!
Silas IS trying to win. He is the Mr. Bean of the organization….management is keeping him because they know he can’t coach.
I guess “Doing a pretty good job” is one way to describe putting up historic numbers. Meanwhile with Jalen and kpj even the bad games he finds excuses and never says anything negative. All he wants to talk about is defense or turnovers when it’s Sengun. Like others have said, this has actually backfired and created entitlement with the guards and hardened Sengun into a beast. So in some ways I appreciate the bias from Silas. With that said, don’t let the door hit ya
