Şengün is legitimately putting up HOF numbers this month

    I probably didn't need to start a thread on this as I'm beating the proverbial dead horse of: Şengün is amazing...but it's really more than that.

    He's isn't just our best player right now but the numbers he has put up are legitimately HOF-worthy (this IS NOT hyperbole)...

    Outside of paltry FT shooting @ around 62% for the month (mainly dude to a couple games where he was just not mentally there at the FT line), his numbers if continued WITHOUT ANY improvement are hall of fame worthy. Simple as that.

    My assumption is that a 20 year old who has been exposed to US basketball conditioning for less than 18 months will not only improve but will do so considerably. His PPG will increase, Rebs increase and Assists stabilize around 6.-7.5 for his career (is my guess)

    Şengün's stats for the year and NOT the month of January (after a slow start due to being held back and on restricted minutes):

    15.5 ppg
    9 rbp
    3.5 apg


    HOFer Pau Gasol's career numbers:

    17.0 ppg
    9.2 rpg
    3.2 apg

    have they ever put an active player in the Hall of Fame? I think the league should do this right now with Alpi. Silver should just unilaterally make the call and give The Fans what they want

    If Alpi is putting up hall of fame numbers then that in my opinion is a hall of famer, making him wait to get inducted could hurt his feelings and possibly hurt his development. Its a no brainer, SILVER NEEDS TO DO THIS NOW...

    Should probably consider players like Bam Adebayo, Lauri Markkanen, Domantas Sabonis, and Julius Randle for the HOF, too. What a time to be alive.

    Please don’t do that… don’t compare him to Pau Gasol. They are very different and a lot of Gasol’s value was defensively and his length.

    Sengun is having a very good sophomore season and especially this month. He looks like a big part of the team going forward.

    Lets worry about finishing the season, getting a good draft pick and a real coach and see what happens.

    I was a huge fan of Sengun going into the draft, was excited when we drafted him but talking about the HOF isn’t fair to him yet.
