    I got a feeling EEAAO might sweep. It's a two way battle between Cate and Yeoh for best actress, Brendan Fraser might pull off the upset for best actor. Ke Quan is a lock for best supporting. If I had to go for a surprised win for best picture I'll go all quiet on the western front otherwise everything everywhere all at once will win it.

    My money is on Encino Man for best actor. He plays a tragic gay man and it's an artsy voting group.

    Elvis may get some surprise wins due to Lisa Marie passing away. Never underestimate the sympathy vote from, again, an artsy voting group.

    Everything has momentum but I personally don't think it's worth all of the accolades. /shrug
    Edit- completely forgot part of the story is a lesbian coming out. More votes from the artsy-fartsy crowd.

    Avatar should win lots of awards for shiny stuff.

    If Kimmel does 2 minutes on Trump, I'm going to slap him. And I'm a democrat. Dude needs to let it go.

    My money is on a slap joke. They will probably have either Chris Rock or Will Smith do it. And it will be lame.....

    I’m same way, just a Ke Quan fan for his redemption arc. I’ll be shock if it doesn’t win anything tbh.

    I wish I'd been able to see AQOTWF in the theaters. I'm not in love with some of the changes I've read that were made from the book, but I always wondered why a German-language version of a German's book about German soldiers in WWI was never made (until now). Alas, Houston with its metro area of 6.5 million people did not warrant a cinema screen for its limited release.

    "Banshees" has been on HBO and I was often laughing out loud (the priest chasing a parishioner out of confession, "That's right! You ARE fuc**d!", then gesturing to the next parishioner. "Who's next?"

    Ana de Armas. Haven't seen the film. She is......my movie-wife. Good sweet Lawd.

    @Xerobull
    That's right, Will slapped his career into the last century. His next film, "Captain Dumbass", will go straight to EPIX.

    I'll have to watch some of these movies to decide, and I thought it was a pretty good movie but Top Gun Maverick for best picture?
    Is it a weaker year for film?

    This is going to sound ghey, but I never really noticed Colin Farrell before. I just figured he was some Hollywood type that wasn’t quite good enough to carry a film on his own. I had some vague notion that he was Irish, but hadn’t really followed his stuff to be sure. LOVED Banshees, but his role in it is NOT Oscar material. Just not juicy enough. But it did make me notice him though. Sure, he plays a boring dolt, but that takes some talent for a Hollywood type. To make me forget he’s “just” an actor. Dude has some range. Like Christian Bale range.

    "All Quiet on the Western Front" gets my vote for Best Picture. I watched it the other day and loved it! I never saw the original. I haven't seen any of the rest except...cough..."Top Fun:Cataract" (meh). Oh...I did see "TAR" and it was pretty good mainly for Cate's acting.
