Wouldn’t your “cancelling” of Pink Floyd due to criticisms of the Israeli governments treatment of the Palestinians be the exact same parameters that people who label others as “woke” use? You’d get angry if a celeb on Twitter got mad at Dave Chappelle or Joe Rogan for being critical of something you also didn’t like. How is this “cancel culture” of Pink Floyd or Waters any different??
Also Rogers has always been an insufferable prick which is why Pink Floyd couldn’t stay together after the Wall. He’s critical of everyone and everything makes him cranky. So him being angry at the Israeli government is par for the course. The guy got angry at David Gilmore over his two solos in Comfortably Numb for fcks sake.

How would a celebrity on Twitter saying they don’t like what Chappelle said be any different? The networks only take someone off air if people are likely to stop watching. Chappelle and Bill Maher stayed on air because people kept watching. I think it’s the “b**** about cancel culture” people who are the ones who really don’t seem to understand how free speech and capitalism work.
No matter how the right tries to spin it, being woke is having an active awareness of systemic injustices and prejudices, especially those involving the treatment of ethnic, racial, or sexual minorities:In light of incidents of police brutality, People like DeSantis and other Republicans use it disparagingly against liberal progressive orthodoxy, especially those promoting inclusive policies or ideologies that welcome or embrace ethnic, racial, or sexual minorities. Anti-Woke Don't say Gay. Don't Say Black. Let's embrace white Supremacy because we are a tier above everyone else.
It is literally trying to be a better person (while sometimes being over the top) vs celebrating the intent to be a less tolerant, more hateful, more racist human being.
Even those who are over the top on the left aren't near as dangerous as those over the top on the right. Hate crimes are far more dangerous than some a bunch of people waving a rainbow flags or wearing chicken suits, or chaining themselves to a tree.. Inflicting pain on others because you don't like their skin color or sexuality is an ugly thing.
The lengths Republicans will go to get back the old days before Civil Rights. Woke is their new derogatory catch phrase that replaces their old phrases of n*gger lovers, f*ggots, and those believing they should have equal rights. It's no wonder White Supremacists and hate groups love Republicans.
I'm gonna be honest, there are some things that bother me about what some leftists say or do...but then I think of the alternative and realize I'd rather be tolerant of some far left ideas rather than far right ideas. I mean, I'd rather get used to the idea of using pronouns rather than the alternative like thinking gay people are somehow pedophiles.
