What about trading for Simmons this trading season?

    Trading for Simmons would help with experience, versatility and our team defense. I would trade for him now. I would give up Gordon, KPJ and Garuba AND two 1st round picks for Simmons. This trade makes so much sense for both teams, Nets get some picks back, a shooter, size in the middle and a guy who can give you 15-20 points a game. Also, Durant like KPJ as a player and he would act right on that veteran team.
    Also, if we get Wemby in the Draft, Simmons would be our pass first point guard. If we get Scooter he would be our perfect Power Forward next to Sengun. He would be a great teacher on defense, make the game easier for Sengun, Jabari and Jalen each night. We do not need to keep those picks if we can get a solid player and teacher for us. It would be less pressure on him and getting away from the East Coast Mediain. Houston’s Media is very soft…they do care if he shoots or not. Simmons would be hyped to play with young players, and this would be HIS team. I would not wait for Harden or beg him, the guy is older, plays no defense and just want our money and Strip Clubs. What do you think?

    Dude is coming off of back surgery... I'm not going to list all the cons; since there is a huge thread on it already.


    We own Nets picks. We want Nets to be bad. Getting Simmons and his toxic contract means we relieve them of their financial burden and give them financial freedom to improve their team.

    The argument of renting cap space to Nets also make little sense; since they don't have many picks left to give. If you rent cap space for bad contracts; you to do it with a different team, who can offer 1st rounders.


    Rockets, we ourselves, had the same burden of an enormous dead weight contract (the Westbrook/Wall). Even recently took a PR parting shot from Wall as Rockets still paying him this year. We're finally getting out, and folks want a new one?

    The two first rounders are coming to Houston in this deal, right?

    because Simmons is just a dead cap hit at this point.

    Simmons is a bad contract, we would need to get picks for him, not give them any. He can barely crack 7 ppg as a super max player, and that is if he even plays.
