Alright, computer guys, anyone know what is going on?

My computer for the past few days has said I have low disk space. When I click on, it says I only have x bytes of space remaining, and I should delete files. I have deleted about 600 megs so far, but as soon as they say that, 10 minutes later, instead of saying I have 400 megs of space now, it'll say I now have 6 megs, etc., etc.

The past couple of days it says I have 0 space remaining, and I've deleted every non-essential thing I can think of, so I know it has to be a bug.

    Any ideas?

Empty your recycle bin after deleting the files.

I'm smarter than that. Done that several times. Rebooted several times. It's like my computer memory has alzheimers.

Run disk clean up by going to Properties on your local disk, then defrag.

If that doesn't fix the problem, try deleting your swap file, then reboot.

    Better yet, do all 3.

Do you have a printer installed? Do you print a lot of files? It could be the fact that everytime you print something, the printer creates a cache file in your windows directory and it doesnt delete itself afterwards. You have to find the cache folder where the printer is saving everything and delete it. Then, reinstall printer drivers. I dont remember off the top of my head where the printer cache folder is, but if the above is true, i can help look. hope this helps.
I worked in IT, and Ive seen this happen at some of the computers at the office. One of the ladies would have this problem of low disk space come up and we couldnt figure it out. I would clear a gig off her computer and the next week, it would be gone. baffling at first.

Rocketspimp- OK, I just defragmented my computer. It took about 5 hours.
Did not fix the problem. It still says I have low disk space. I don't know where swapped files are.

Nutcracker-Nope, I used to have a Lexmark on, but It's been out of the computer long before this started happening.

Ironically, I was pissed at all the pop-ups I was getting. My friend suggested adaware. I went to a site that "scanned" for problems, and then wanted me to buy something. I turned it off. Now I had pop-up ads for adaware crap.

Next, my friend told about ad-aware specifically. We ran it. Still problems out the ass.

Next, my friend used a program to "defragment" the machine, not the way I just did it. Some other way that had colored dots running all over the computer. That didn't help.

All of this made the computer worse. Hell, I'd be freaking happy as hell if all I had to do was have pop-up problems now.

I think my friend is an idiot.

Does your hard drive make any funny noises, like clicks... or something similar? your hard drive might be bad.
Imho, i think the best pop up blocker is google, it gets about 99 percent of everything and its free. http://toolbar.google.com/

Could this problem caused by a virus? Have you scanned you computer using some anti-virus software?
As to the pop-up thing, just forget about IE and try out Mozilla firefox. You won't be bothered by pop-ups anymore and tab browsing is simply great.

My problems aren't pop-ups anymore. They've been taken care of. The problem now is that the computer is saying I have no memory left and halk the time when I try to turn the computer on, it will say dangerously low on resources and refuse to boot up.

If you use internet explorer, go to tools, Internet options, delete files. This deletes temporary internet files. Check the settings to see how big the cache you are reserving on your hard drive for temporary internet files is.

There are all kinds of viruses that really do nothing more than reproduce themselves and take up space. A friend of mine had one about 6 months ago. That would be my guess.
