The 60's was the beginning of wokeism WTF are you talking about?

What do you think led to this stage of feminism and women's lib?

    Hippies were the original wokesters.

    Your ignorance is breathtaking.

If you were serious, you would have left the juvenile "woke" reference out of your post, but in response, I'll give you a serious reply. The 1960's were some of the best years of my life. Sometimes a moment will find it's way into my memory and bring it all back into focus.

I can give you an example. The other day something made me remember taking my time one afternoon during the late '60's, slowly driving down a street in a Montrose neighborhood in the red Triumph Spitfire I owned for a few years. Maybe it was the beautiful sunny day we were having here in Austin.

I had the top down and coming towards me on the sidewalk was a lovely girl wearing one of those white embroidered peasant blouses with a scooped neck that were popular with hippies of the female persuasion. She wore it without a bra, unsurprisingly, and was bent over the handle bars of a 10 speed, the kind with grips that curl down, long brown hair flowing down her back. There was an instant when our eyes met and we both smiled, then I was past. I looked back over my shoulder at her and she was looking back at me, still smiling. Why I didn't slow down and circle around, I'll never know. I must have been on my way to see someone. Who, I can't recall, but I still remember her.

See that's what I'm saying. You got to experience so many things that are now considered racist or misogynist. I would have loved to go watch Star Wars in a theater and not the trash Hollywood is producing. The movies, music and shows were soo much better. People actually had real interactions. If you were driving down the street today and stared at a girl that was braless she would accuse you of being a pervert and say she felt sexually abused by Deckard.

I see pictures of the 60's 70's and even 80's and I just see a whole different timeline and world. Would you say that people living today can look back and talk about this decade the way you talk about the 60's?

I am really impressed because the song fits so well with his post.

Also, that song is something of an Oldie and probably isn't what you normally listen to.

There was a time in my life in which I was dedicated to working out and lifting weights. Every day I would go to the gym at our workplace and we would listen to great heavy metal and hard rock like AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, etc. Occasionally we would get some numbnuts ruin the flow by insisting that we listen to Jimmy Buffet or something else that literally would kill the vibe of pumping iron. This thread is like that - we got all these great beautiful women and such a good flow and we have this one numbnuts poster who thinks it’s funny to ruin the flow by posting pics of the orange man. I will say the same thing to him as I did to the guy that wanted to listen to Buffet - that **** isn’t funny and never has been.
