Think they missed. There was really no suspense or drama, mystery, or much of anything. It's all over the place. Still time to recover, but they are headed nowhere interesting.

 

Man I have been holding out on watching these because it would crush me if they are bad, I have been on a soap saying how great these would be as a series

Have you read the books because I can see how it would take a lot of world building at 1st, and you have to know a lot of backstories for any of these characters or storylines to make much sense.

Have not read. So came in blind. 2 epis in. It feels however like we know all the answers before she does. And she goes from nice to bad to really nice again in like 2 seconds, which doesn't feel authentic. It's not coming across as a page turner.

 

The "main" character was probably the least interesting character in the series she was mainly an anchor and all the interesting stuff was happening around her, the little girl (Mona) was the real protagonist of the series and after reading some synopsis it looks like she is not even a part of the show?

It's probably because her storylines can't be portrayed on TV.

I can't remember if Rowan was bad in the book at all I think I remember her being nice the entire time I need to actually watch it.

Like you, I loved the books. Particularly the first. I haven't seen any of this yet, and I'm almost afraid to lol

And shouldn't there be a main Taltos? I wonder how they are going to do that?

I definitely can "see" Daddario as Rowan...that's not far off of how I would have pictured her, honestly. I don't know enough about the other choices they've made, really.

I haven't seen any of the Interview series. It sounded like it was very different from the book. I actually really enjoyed the Cruise/Pitt movie. Absolutely loved reading Interview...and was blown away that Rice was able to do another book so well in Witching Hour. She was really masterful at setting up those universes all in a city she knew so well. I walk by her house in the Garden District almost every time I'm there...haven't been to her grave.
