It’s not Silas’ fault that the organization won’t make the loooonnngg overdue change. He is a good man and we shouldn’t be mad at him for just loyally doing the job (albeit extremely poorly) that he was hired to do. Ultimately, it is the organization that has to answer to the fans and at this point of time they don’t care what the majority of us think. Gotta run now as I’m at the beach and there’s a 14% chance of rain.
What I don't understand is that if Silas is doing these moves on behalf of the front office then what's the incentive for him to continue losing? I have a theory that he was told to continue to lose for 3 years and when they have the opportunity to upgrade the team(2023 free agency), they'll do so and give him a fair shot with a competitive-ish team. Why is that bad? It means Silas will be the head coach for another year. He's also talking like he knows he'll be here another year. There's no way he's punting the season and destroying his reputation with all these losses for nothing.
Also don't blame Dr Mengele, he was just faithfully following Hitler's orders, he only did the job he was paid to do.
I've got information that can exonerate some; but also incriminate them as well. I ain't talking.....anymore
As a coach, you have split loyalties and it's your job to navigate those.. You may be loyal to the front office, but if you're not also loyal to your players and defend them against the front office, you lose the locker room. If you're not loyal to the game, you lose your soul. Silas is a lost cause and he either gleefully did it to himself or purpose or he didn't even recognize it. Either is terrible and another big reason I blame him.
we're tanking - cant blame the man for losses... but i blame Silas for the lack of accountability... for the lack of development... this rebuild shoulda been about gathering talent - and rebuilding the culture...
If the goal is (as I believe), to acquire as much talent as possible, regardless of fit, in an effort to find a true franchise player for the franchise, it is incumbent on the HC to put the players in the best position to display those skills and potential. Wins and losses truly mean nothing in this equation, other than being able to add another potential candidate the following year. I'm actually ok with this approach and will judge him accordingly. KPJ has been rewarded with a healthy contract, keys to the offense, and the support of the coaching staff. I'm ok with the decision, because the alternatives at that time were just not appealing and the language of the contract allows the teams to void and exit at their discern. That said, he has failed miserably, imo. Nothing about him shows the ability to be a starting PG on a championship team. Nothing. I could list his deficiencies, but I'm sure it's well documented here already. The recent shift towards running the offense through Sengun is definitely a result of that and it's paying dividends. Green, imo, has been given a chance as well to be the lead dog but just isn't physically able to do it YET, so I give it an incomplete grade. He may get there, but his body transformations have to happen first, along with his understanding of NBA defenses. Patience is the key here. He COULD be special, but we will have to wait. And then we have Sengun. Clearly the best current Rocket, but is his skill set and talent enough to get to the promised land? Honestly, I don't know. Silas, at this juncture, MUST commit to Alpi for the remainder of the season to start to answer that. If he doesn't... fire him with cause. We have to figure out not if these players are talented enough to play through Sengun, but if they are smart enough to do so. Again...I really don't know. What i do know is Sengun is the centerpiece of this current team and I think he's smart enough to at least be a Jokic with the right players around him. I honestly think he could be more than Jokic because he just has more "wiggle", more flexibility in his bag. He needs smart players around him. I'd love a Battier as a 5th starter with him. All in all, Silas gets a C- right now, and that's enough to keep his job for now. But the writing on the wall is clear. From this point forward, Sengun is your lead horse and you'd better learn how to ride him because he has elite bball ability and IQ. Get smart or get ready you get out. Rick Adelman, do I still have you on speed dial?
Dude, I can not understand these kind of comments. "Silas is a good guy." How do you know that? Have you ever meet with him in person? How do you have an idea about this?
