this is also why tanking or bb teams in general dont work they do what public wants them and not what needs to be done to win... this is why draft order is not the bible..too arbitrary and influenced by the hype, public pressure and groupthink, not the quality or the real potential...
yes imho his defensive potential is elite however it needs to be said time and again hes still just an nba prospect and has only ever played 6 full nba games 35+ minutes you need to play games to become real good, you cant become good defensive player outside of games... and without being held accountable, inspired, motivated and rewarded by coaches for the work you put in and also helped by the teamates
oh sengun plays defense, he just doent gives his all on a tanking team with the coach that doesnt support him..and if your own coach is holding you back you cant expect refs to do you any favors... and you cant play defense in this league if the refs wont allow it to you...! sengun has an elite potential on defense and eryybody gonna realize it once hes starts playing for a real nba team...
I agree. Most American casuals get lock in the mindset of the ideal center. Big tall athletic. Sengun doesn't fit the mold, but like u said he has the high bbiq and craftiness to compensate. Man is very grounded in the fundamentals and is a team player. Creative passer, great court vision, crafty as hell and has great fundamentals (boxing out, rebounds, screens). If he could shoot 3s well, man would b near unstoppable.
i blame dumbalytics harden and the warriors frenzy it made everyone fall madly in love with 3pt chucking, fancy dribbles and cant play kanter ideology
It was wrong to say last year, because Jalen was more versatile/easier to build around but here's what's changed since then. Jalen has not become more efficient, if anything he's being less effective at producing a positive outcome when he initiates this year. Alpi on the other hand has taken a leap. Good things happen when Alpi gets the ball to start the attack.
Sengun is our best player AND has the highest potential on our team. Jalen Green and Jabari Smith were drafted super high, but it's time to re-rack expectations and adjust our planning accordingly. We have a great talent in Sengun.
I’ve said it a bunch of times, and I think you might agree—young Corey Brewer would’ve killed it on this team and possibly have reached some of the potential he left on the table. He’s somebody who never stops moving, and right now the problem is the majority of our guys don’t move well off-ball Also imagine the highlights
