Disagree….Silas is definitely as bad as we think. WORST RECORD IN NBA HISTORY bad. Just think….in the whole entire history of the sport there has never ever been a worse record. Yet morons on this board make excuse after excuse for the guy.

He should already be gone, but not going to fire him on MLK day.

    Hopefully tomorrow.

We're so bad the league should create a special rule and just give us Wemby.

Put the guys we drafted the past two seasons in this upcoming draft and where would they be drafted?
I think the goal has been to focus on this draft the entire time.
Silas might resign but I don't see the team firing the guy unless he gets "#metoo"'ed.

Has he ever said anything about Eric Gordon?

I get he should be traded for anything but as long as he’s here, why the hell is he starting?

Tari, Tate, KPJ are all available to play. Those are the guys we should at least be developing! We’re tanking but damn at least get some development from the young guys.

Almost 30 minutes a game for a guy that’s not gonna be here in 2 years makes no sense.

Respect to EG though but damn tf is silas doing

No, the morons refuse to understand that they are trying to lose.

You know they want to be worst record which guarantees they pick no worse than 5th and the odds are that they pick in the top land 1-2-3.

We certainly deserve him for putting up with the worst record in league history as fans. Unfortunately, that’s not the way life works and while we have a 14% chance, a team like the Bulls who’ll have a 12% chance or any of the many other teams in that range will probably get him. We’re in a large group that basically has a 1/10 chance, that’s why the NBA created the draft lottery system….to prevent teams that tank from getting a top pick. It’s real, yet many many many people on this site are living in a fantasy land thinking the extra 2% has us in a lock for Wembly. This is not a coin flip where we have a 50% chance of getting the guy. Not even close and it sickens me that this team and it’s fans are fine with us realistically having a historical bad record all for Amen Thompson who is 86% more likely to be the Rocket pick next year. Amen is not a bad player by any stretch, but shoots 20% threes and doesn’t fit the Silas/Stone system where that is our primary offensive weapon.

How many minutes did TyTy play last night with KPJ out? So much for development. Silas ain’t tanking, he’s trying his arse off to win games and save his job. That’s why he played EG 30 minutes. He just such a bad coach that it still doesn’t matter and he still loses games.

Stone comes off as someone who never thinks he's wrong, and a bit stubborn. I have a hard time seeing him fire him in season, but this Summer will try to make a splash I assume. Firing Silas right now sort of taints his illusion of this all being part of "the process" which for a guy like Stone is a bridge too far (admitting things aren't going great).

Hopefully I'm wrong though because every game that goes by like last night where Silas lets them play through a million mistakes without calling a timeout to actually.... you know... coach these kids.... is a game wasted for precious development. There's only like 30 games left and these are really really important minutes for these kids.

At this point no issue with losing, but I am bothered by lack of development and just the general lethargy of the organization. They say and do nothing. No action at all. It’s quite acceptable to lose….no accountability at all. Sometimes change is needed to show the fans you care. Tilman had no issues firing his staff at Landrys during the pandemic, but does zero with his team. Tired of cheerleader Patrick as well…should do his job as liason or whatever nepotism spot he now has and hold people accountable.

    Absolutely.

Love or hate the Spurs (mostly hate here) I do just really appreciate how Pop during games won't care about his timeout saving for end of game scenarios at this point, and instead uses them when there are coaching moments that are so important to catch, and correct in real time.

Silas just lets these youngsters screw up over and over again, and calls timeouts like he's trying to manage a hypothetical game 7 of the finals scenario. It's insane, and pisses me off every game.

    ....

On Tillman, I don't think he's very active on the day to day mainly because he's so focused on getting his center strip Vegas casino off the ground. That's a HUGE project for him to get off the ground right now, and the bad news is at some point he's going to be relying on some promising growth projections to be shown out of his portfolio to the big banks which finance his projects. I get concerned about what'll happen these next year or two when he's really needing to pull out major dollars, and gets some not so nice looking reports showing the Rockets in the bottom 10 in attendance, with horrible TV ratings, and the leaky licensing deals. Tillman doesn't seem very attentive to the Rockets at the moment, but that might change freaking quick these next two years.

    Maybe the players are bad?

Jalen can run fast and jump high but he hasn't been a very good player.

Jabari was supposed to be a great shooter, so far, he's shooting more like Chuck Hayes ....

Nix ... did I mention Nix is what Silas has to work with behind KPJ at point guard? Nuff Said.

At some point lack of development / improvements has to circle back to the coach. Case in point, tonight against the hapless Hornets who were 11-34 coming into this rockets HOME game. If ever we had a chance to win it would have been this game.

As has almost always been true we just crash in the 2nd half and specifically the 4th quarter. I don't know the stats of it but it seems when the 2 opponents retire for Halftime our opponent ALWAYS comes into the 3rd with a BETTER plan. We almost invariably get crushed and often find ourselves in a desperate situation. On a blue moon/eclipse/leap year we sometimes pull it out and win. Our loss point margin is also the worst in the league and was most of the time the last 3 years.

What free agent would be foolish enough to want to be part of this trainwreck?
