they really are in a bad place we are currently in the midst of our annual 15 game losing streak on our way to being 3x L champions How are u gonna 3-peat as the worst team in the league? this team needs so much help moving forward it’s unreal novice GM involved in practice and allegedly dictates rotations…head coach out of his depth with a roster like this…KPJ at PG experiment continuing even tho the hypothesis that it sucks was answered a long time ago…cap space galore when the FA crop is ass we are literally just hoping and praying for Wemby or Scoot, and if it’s “with the 3rd pick, the Houston Rockets select…” the tank dreamers on here will be propping up the next big thing in the 2024 draft hoping we keep our protected pick
I think I’ve seen this alluded to before, but I must have missed the story. Where does this come from?
Nook has said it, and there was a BR article a year ago that said this If he were to make a change at head coach, it seems Stone would maintain a similar level of influence over the coaching staff and Rockets' rotation, an increasing trend around the NBA.
Now I get why Philly fans started saying trust the process. Hey y'all, we lost our franchise player and we're tanking to build a core. Trust the process. This is our last year to get a great pick with a losing record so lets stack those Ls. This summer we trade KPJr, maybe fire Silas, sign some vets and try to implement a real offense.
Been telling folks this all along, Silas hints at it when answering questions … it’s why Nix got so much run, it’s why EG still starts and it keeps getting leaked Rockets want a 1st. It’s why Rockets are tied into the KPJ at PG situation. If Stone/Tilman told Silas he was in hot water … I believe he would run TyTy,Green,Eason,Bari,Sengun out and have KPJ Gordon KMJ Tate with second unit Defense gets better… bench gets scoring .. Would if fix our 30-35% shooting from 3…..no
I’m most depressed about Jalen’s lack of development. That’s the biggest concern. Silas and Stone may have actually f#cked this up. We need a coach and roster that are gonna help Jalen maximize his enormous talent. And of course Jalen has to do better.
Jabari has improved immensely. He’ll add more muscle in the off-season and will be able to finish at the hoop better and improve his interior defense. I know everybody was expecting him to come in and shoot 3’s like Durant, but he is a rookie getting used to the NBA. I would like another coach to help all the players progress, but no need to worry about Jabari or Jalen for that matter. Jalen is unstoppable one on one. The 2nd half they just ran double teams at him and he hasn’t learned how to react. Sengun would have had another triple double if anyone could hit a wide open 3. Our defense is the major problem, but that 3 point shooting has to improve. Neither Wemby or Scoot are there yet either. KPJ is pretty good at catch and shoot 3’s so if we do get Scoot Henderson then KPJ should be moved to small forward or 6th man.
Yep, because they are a bad team. Things will improve when they adjust their expectations and see themselves realistically. As far as what to do not to be a bad team, just have to see how it all shakes out. Might be bad for a good while. Might be good in a couple years. As for next year, I think fair is a good expectation.
The 2014 Astros: After three years of 100+ losses... they added Correa and Springer and got slightly better... then they changed their head coach, their youth matured, they signed some pitching and traded for Verlander.. and wham, a major turnaround happened and a dynasty was born. 2023 Rockets: Fire Silas. Draft Wemby. Sign Harden. Youth continues to progress. That's a playoff team right there. Starting Lineup PG: James Harden SG: Jalen Green SF: Jabari Smith, Jr PF: Wembanyama C: Sengun 2nd String Rotation Players : KJ Martin Tari Eason Jaesean Tate Garuba or Fernando Depth: Tyty Washington G-Bird Trade for Assets: Porter Jr, Josh Christopher
People forget how much trouble Harden had when he first started getting doubled and then tripled and then the playing behind him defenses - Jalen hadn’t had to play PG much so the pressure got to him. EG should of tried to help relive him but we know EG can’t dribble or pass
