Green, Smith are supposed the answer; maybe Sengun. How much growth have you seen in Green? Do we build around an inconsistent shooter that has troubles on the defensive side? Smith has promise but needs the right environment to be successful. Sengun has promise but we really don’t now because coach keeps capping his playing time and coaching/letting (looks the same) the other players freeze him out of the offense.
Was it time for this weekly thread because the clock struck midnight on Friday? There is no core. CORE: NOT FOUND
These guys are depressed assets so no point in trading them but the Rockets should absolutely move on from these players if they could upgrade. They can't though. The only real core is Tilman and Patrick.
Many obviously disagree but Stone appears to think KPJ is a keeper. He's not a traditional pg but I think he can work in a Derek Fisher type role playing off of another ball dominant player. Hopefully green can be that guy soon.
There is no core. They have some candidates hoping to earn a spot in the core, but as of now, no one has. Sengun and KPJ are the closest to it right now.
I'd say the actual core is Green, Smith and probably Sengun... those other guys are role players. I like them all, even Mathews because he's always ready to fight.
The supreme root core outside of the recent draft picks is the Rockets fan base split in two groups, those who tolerate and settle for whatever is on the hardwood, and those who don't and completely stop supporting or show very minimum interest Both sides should just get together and send a command/order to the top officials of Rockets headquarters to get it together or get new sponsors to run the show Then again it may backfire where Tilman decides to close shop and relocate to Vegas
