Not to nitpick, but Sabonis dominated the WCC at Gonzaga and Sengun dominated the Turkish league, so their pre NBA work is roughly equivalent. I would just compare season for season, Alperen has Sabonis potential for certain as his strength and shot develop.
What would you suggest, that any record set when the team lost by 20 points, then those records should be vacated league wide / history wide! Or does your proposed litmus test only apply to Alpi? Props should be given to Alpi for playing with so much skill.
Not to mention Sengun is twice the shotblocker, which Sabonis and his coach wish he had in the bag. What Sabonis has that Sengun doesn't though is elite NBA body/fitness. He transformed himself and it made a big difference to his game. I've long hoped Sengun will do the same, he can get away with this body but he would reduce the athleticism gap tremendously if he followed suit.
Remind me again, what team does Sengun play for?? Why would Rockets fans be the least bit upset about Sengun playing well?? Did they trade him to the Lakers or something?? What am I missing???
We had good energy the entire game , I think . But you gotta admit , there was a bit more excitement and pop we played with when he went out . Now , a lot of teams do this when one of their better players go out. Nothing unusual . However , where we might disagree is that I'm actually excited he is out with a minor injury for a bit since it will give other guys some opportunities they've been missing . Hopefully he comes back after 2-4 games and we have grown from it I still want to grow this year . Lottery odds should not be the primary concern
I would also like to see tags of anyone who 'hates Sengun'. People get tied up in this weird psychology of people not liking extreme-Sengun-only-fans and think they hate the player.
Guys like KJ Martin really stepped up and it was awesome to see and I do think that we need to run the ball through Sengun more....but I'm not a fan of cheering on individual accomplishments that don't benefit the team. Honestly if Jalen Green had gotten hurt instead of KPJ, we probably win the game. I think we have one too many ball dominant players in the lineup and we have one of them that is absolutely terrible at everything. The solution is simple, Make Jalen the 6th man so he can do his chucking against bench units so it won't hurt the team as much. Basically get him used to the Lou Williams role that he seems to be best cut out for.
Same energy you give KPJ when he’s playing well. Same ****. I do want Sengun to do well and never been upset about. You talk **** about other players on this team the same way I did Sengun.
