i saw sengun staying with steph curry guarding him in space, following him from 3 pt line all the way to the rim and blocking him at the rim one of my friends is working right now on compilation of his defensive plays to show hes a capable defender he has all the tools to be an elite defender! besides he only ever played 5 full nba games up to this points its little early to predict how he would look few years from now with a defensive minded coach, teammates and a good scheme oth he will always be a better defender than harden and a better offensive player as well... harden has nothing on sengun already, save playing time, the reputation with media, fans, the gms coaches and (r)efs sengun already a better player! and what future brings only remains to be seen

Dwerp Howard was considered one of the best pick and roll defenders and the Warriors boiled him like Sebastian the lobster. Ariza&PJ&Clint how did that workout. It's almost like PnR has been around since the beginning of time because it can't be fully stopped only slowed down. The best way to contain it is giving them a dose of their own medicine but just not missing 25 threes in a row. Remember when the rockets were to revolutinize basketball with a small center to stay with the guards on the PnR, how did that work out. Putting a ceiling on Jokic to win a championship is asinine. Great post. The PnR is one of the hardest things to defend. People forget that even when we had Dream patrolling the middle the Rockets had a very tough time with Utah because of the Malone and Stockton PnR which was their bread and butter.
I just think it’s crazy. Sengun is awesome on offense, but he’s not good defensively. If your center is gonna be this bad on D, he better be a top 10 player. Can’t protect the rim and can’t switch, so how do you build around it. This is why things need to run through him, otherwise you’re wasting his strengths
The Rockets pairing Green with KPj would be like if the Cavs had paired Mobley with James Wiseman. Great job by the Cavs of giving Mobley proper training wheels.
Your first sentence is a totally reasonable stance, but I don't think it's fair to assume Sengun will never be a good enough defender to escape this territory. Give him a few years and we'll see where he is. He's already a way better defender than he was last year.
