    wrath_of_khan,

Congratulations to your new MBA life. I think you handled your choice pretty well. I hope I can do the same.

As to the question of which program or which school, I think the answer is: it depends. It depends on one's knowledge background, professional background, career goals, personal feelings and expectations, geographical constraints, financial constraints, or even macro economic conditions.

As some posters directly or indirectly pointed out, it's worth pursuing a better-known or higher-tier school if other factors are about equal. In every job market I can think of, every tangible or intangible advantage counts when it comes to compete for a better job. Once in the door, it often becomes a different ball game. Then, I think results and reputation will speak for you.

In my case, I am trying to slow down a little bit now and count every dollar I can get or save for SMU. If I can get the money issue figured out, I will definitely go for SMU. Otherwise, I will settle on UTD. And I am more inclined toward PMBA rather than EMBA. Hope everything will work out for me.

Glad to know there are quite a few MBAs (past, present or future) here. Maybe we can form an MBA Association of ClutchFans.Net so that Clutch can have a steady stream of contribution from a known source  And we may organize an executive tour to Shanghai for basketball and business interests:D I can arrange some business meetings with some local government officials to talk about everything except how to overthrow the communist government. Besides, as you may or may not know, Shanghai is a well-known decadent mega city;)

I think you really thought this through and you made a good choice for yourself.

    jxu and SJC --

Thanks, y'all. I hope I made the right decision; I certainly think I made the best decision I could. We'll find out the hard way...

Anyway, I just wanted to show that it's not always about going to a top 15 school or bust.

But make no mistake -- I would've gone to Wharton if I'd gotten in! :)

    Good luck jxu!
