Man **** them picks, if Payton wants to come here give the saints some second and third rounders, he's only got one year left on his deal anyway. Payton would be a huge tone setter. And if he chooses to keep Nick I think they could get creative in late rounds and free agency to turn this roster over. Yall aren't seeing the bigger picture. I don't think he's coming here but if Cal is serious about making this team a contender quickly Payton would be a fantastic start
Merlin called and said making the Texans a winner is beyond his power, even as the most powerful magician of all time. BTW, Texans football isn't nearly so frustrating after tuning them out after the battle of bended knee. It's still an old Indian legend...? Or is the a Gourdian Legend now?
I’d trade #12 in a heartbeat if it also meant this: -Tom Brady -Gronkowski -other slew of FA’s that will follow TB12 Would allow you to draft Jalen Carter/Will Anderson at #2. It sounds pretty far out but SP & TB12 are extremely close.
Did Demeco decline to interview? I am against trading picks for a coach but if SP is bringing Brady and others with him I’m all in. Not happening though
Rick Smith didn’t hire Kubiak. Kubiak hired him. Kubiak also oversaw one of the best and most important drafts in franchise history (2006) that was a big part as to why the franchise started to win.
The bigger picture is the Texans aren't serious about Payton, because why would they be with their needs (and he serious about them). It's all just lip service to appease the fans. This has been the McNair MO since 2000.
"Started to win?" The Texans from 2006-2010 went 37-43. They didn't breakout until 2011 and that was two short seasons, one where we were 10-6 and the most successful season in Texans history we went 12-4 but got destroyed every time they faced a team that could pass that year. Even that season was a disaster in a way because they faltered down the stretch losing 2 straight, blowing a chance to have had a 1st round bye and host a Divisional game while then getting annihilated by NE anyway. BoB arguably accomplished more than Kubiak did.
I think the Texans job is pretty desirable. 4 FRP the next 2 seasons. Chance to draft QB of the future. Lousy division so quick turnaround to playoffs. Owner/GM will relinquish power - coach can build team their way. Great city/dome stadium. I could see Payton interested, just wouldn like giving up “First rounder and more” to get him.
Could you imagine? lol....but its the texans we are gonna hire gannon and hes going to bomb... thats our destiny. We all know it.
Makes no sense. If the McNairs loved Gannon so much, then why the hell didn’t they hire him last time around??? This smells like a lot of BS, as usual with this organization.
The team was actually announced in late 1999. Figured I'd include all of the functional years. Could have easily said 1999 though.
It’s all relative. The Texans haven’t done much. But 2006 was their best draft by far. Had they got the right DC in place, they would have won before 2011.
Same. If they take Bryce #2 I want him to have a creative offensive HC. Demeco will be great wherever he lands
