There is one PG who would fit well to the Rockets system= Mickeal Pietrus from France. The reasons: -very tough defender -don't shoot a lot -will not cost a lot in term of salary -Golden State has too many guards So why not trade Piatowski, Lue, Griffin for Pietrus!
Because he's a SG not a PG! Before coming to the NBA he played for my team in France and I can tell you he does shoot and does slash! Was one of the main scoring options on the team. Not a very good 3 pt thread btw! I'd love to have him as a back up to McGrady, but as a starter alongside him! ALA
Before you dreamers post anymore trades involving Lue or any of the other newly acquired Rockets.... they can't be traded yet. Ya'll need to go to realgm.com and check your trades with the trade checker before you post them here. Impossible trades are a waste of time.
Actually, as long as Lue is the only player we are sending out, he can be traded right away. The same goes for any of the players we got with McGrady. Larry Coon's FAQ #84 In addition, teams cannot trade players under the following circumstances: For two months after receiving the player in trade, if the player is being traded in combination with other players. However, the team is free to trade the player by himself (not packaged with other players) immediately. This two-month restriction applies only to teams over the salary cap. (Also see question number 71 for a special case where players can be traded together in less than two months.)
Good find. But does this mean we can take back a player in the trade, or would taking back anything other than a draft pick or cash be considered a package?
We can trade him for anything, just like Orlando can trade Mobley for anything, as long as another player is not added from OUR side. However, I something like this is possible: Lue and Weatherspoon for Pietrus and Cliff Robinson, because I believe we can send then in two trades to the same team. The first would a be a Lue/Pietrus swap, and the second would be a Weatherspoon/Cliffy swap. Can anyone tell us about the TE and how it works in this instance?
Well this trade would only work if Lue and Pietrus have similar salaries, and spoon and cliff have similar salaries. The TE couldn't be used in this trade because you can't combine the TE with someone else's salary. The way to use the TE is in a separate trade that takes a player for the TE: Lue for Pietrus then TE + Pick for Cliff Anyway, I don't see anything like this going down because Pietrus >>>>>>>>>>>> Lue and Spoon and Cliff is a wash.
dude... Pietrus is a "RGTNVGBFSRLUTR" Random Guy That's Not Very Good But For Some Reason Lights Up The Rockets There's a bunch of these guys in the NBA.
He would be a perfect fit for this team. TMac has good enough handdles to bring the ball up the court and will be the one throwing the ball into the post most of the time anyway. Peitrius would excell under Van Gundy.
He is a good player, once he got his confidence going he played very well. He has a chance to be a real player in the league. I would flip Lue for him. DD
Last I read, GS was pretty high on Pietrus. Also, why would they want any of the guys you suggested? I definitely don't see why they'd want Lue when they already have 3 PGs that are considered better than him (Van Exel, Claxton, Fisher).
He sure did, I dont think I've ever seen Steve more frustrated by one person. He physically put it on Steve.
Golden State LOVES Pietrus.... Forget that trade idea. First they would much sooner trade JRich than Pietrus. Second they have Speedy Claxton, NVE, and Fisher. Why add another mediocre pg? Also Pietrus is a shooting guard as many have said and his ball handling skills at this point in his career are next to nill. I do like the guy a lot though and think he has more upside than JRich. He just needs to develop an outside shot and work on his handles. At this point he's James Posey in a shooting guards body. If they trade Pietrus its because they get back a bonafied stud. While were talking about GS, they want to lynch Mullin here. The Foyle signing wasn't too popular but it made sense but the Fisher signing has pissed off allmost everyone in town. The feeling here is he's the worst of the three and I tend to agree. I think Dunleavy would be a good target for the Rockets. In him we would have essentially everything we would have gotten in Brent Barry and hes younger. He has great court vision and is a deadly shot. If I'm the Rockets I would offer anyone but Yao and Tmac for Dunleavy. People here are pissed that they wasted a #3 pick on him, but if they got him with lets say where Boki was picked he would have been the steal of the draft. Thats why you don't see his name pop up too much.
we are going to get charlie ward...it is over. just look at it, it fits! he is the few remaining EX-knicks that jvg can pick up. i mean we even signed oakley for a little while, we had mark jackson, ewing is sitting on the bench coaching yao...
