Glass half full..... getting a running start for tankathon into the trade deadline may provide us some cover to make some mid season moves that do more to improve the roster instead of just making lateral moves for contracts and late FRP.

I am not saying Wagner would be the # 2 pick I am saying if we got Allen and picked lower in the lottery I would have picked Wagner.

Why would anybody need balls to draft mobley #2 he was in discussion for being the #! pick and a lot of folks rated him over Green.

The Cavs picked Mobley #3 when they had Allen, so why would you need balls to pick him 1 pick higher?

The beauty of Mobley is that he could fit in next to anybody, which me and some others kept saying before the draft and has proved to be true.

Wood should have had no bearing, but he would have been perfect next to Wood.

The team looks really bad right now but I think, at least till this off season, it's all for the best. I didn't think either Green or Jabari could be the best players on championship teams coming into their drafts and I still don't. We really really need to get that this year be it Wemby, Scoot, Amen Thompson or whomever. The thing is, once we do get that star, all these guys are already here ready to be the core that he grows with. Look at Dallas. They were in the top 5 once and it got them Luka. After that, all their picks were mediocre. Now, even with Luka, they're having such a hard time building a championship roster cause they don't have the picks, cap, or promising young players to get another star with. Full rebuilds take years. We had to be terrible this year because that core still needs more pieces.

Just wanted to add that in my mind, Stone has had a bit of a red mark cause of all the Oladipo stuff and even if he's been ok since then, he hasn't really done anything to regain my faith after that.

Orlando has been tanking for years and irrelevant since Dwight left. You are complaining about 3 seasons, Orlando has 3 busts on their roster Mo Bamba, Suggs and Jonathan Isaac.

If the Rox were Orlando they'd have 2 busts, need to pick another bust next year and then wait a couple more years to get their own Wagner and Banchero.

Mobley doesnt fit with everybody cuz he cant score. Just look st his offensive nos they all come from handouts by his all star guards. He wouldnt work here as we dont have a playmaker. He also cant play center as Cavs have a losing record when Allen isnt playing. Wood and Mobley would just be mediocre on both aspects as Wood is great on offense but horrible on D while Mobley is the opposite.

Look at Jabari and Sengun its not like they are the perfect pairing cuz they cancel each other out, Jabari is good on D but shooting blanks while Sengun is the opposite.

His offensive numbers are the way they are because he is not asked to score on that team.

He would work anywhere because his game is that multifaced, and he could definitely do work on the PnR with KPJ.

During trade season, it is very important for Stone to get this right. He needs to trade Gordon and get more veteran players (point guard) to play with these young guys.... Draft will not be hard, pick Wemby, Scooter Henderson or Amen. If the Rockets mess up the next 7 months.... trade season and free agency....

good points. I do think u want to see some positive signs of development with your prospects even when your tanking.

on your last point, the Oladipo stuff really poisoned the well with me too. I was against getting him as part of the harden trade, and I was even more upset by the fact that we tried to extend him. I also really didn’t like the Wall-Russ trade. I didn’t think the pick we got was worth it, and a year later the Wiz turned around and traded him for better compensation. Meanwhile paying Wall to sit out is a result of completely mismanaging that situation.

I understand bringing in Wood, but I would have liked to have seen him traded a year earlier. KPJ’s a real talent, but I don’t understand giving him an extension when we have a 20 yr old #2 draft pick who plays the same position.

I think he’s drafted pretty well and maintained cap flexibility, but we didn’t get enough for our veteran stars at the beginning of the rebuild, and he can’t pull off a trade to save his life. He’s also badly mismanaged the roster and failed to build a strong culture.

Stone should probably be on the hot seat.

73% assisted and only 55% FG on layups and dunks I mean thats not because he isnt being asked to score, it's that he cant score unless its a gimme.

Being multifaceted means you have diff ways to score other than dunks or layups. KPJ cant even do pnrs with Sengun and Jabari I dunno how you expect him to work with Mobley.

What are we supposed to be criticizing him about? I’m happy with all his draft selections. I don’t feel like we missed out on anything special. We didn’t have cap space so we couldn’t bring in any big FA. Why bring in mid-level FAs when we know we need time to develop 6-7 first and second year players? Not trading Ego may be the only issue but we have no idea how important having a stable and respected veteran is to these young players, the coach, and organization. We think as fans, not as someone trying to manage an organization and think towards the future. Sometimes “office morale” is more important than talent. Honestly, in my own job I believe there are smarter people who could do what I do, but because I’m a good team player and work well with others, I’m valued. It’s likely not much different than managing a professional team in the beginning of a complete rebuild.

I think there’s a pretty decent chance we will look back on this era 15 years from now and be like, “Dude, remember when we made our lawyer the GM?”

Ruffle Stones has the benefit of having Tilman on one side and Silas on the other side. They radiate so much incompetence that people don't even have words left when it's time to bash Stone.

OMG Rockets are a clown show? Who knew?
OMG being a high lottery pick means you have to play for a bad team wtf?!!??!

Too bad he isn't being rewarded by being forced to spend 5 years in.....Oklahoma City
