If the Broncos and Cardinals win, the Colts have the number 3 pick, I believe.

The Bears will have every incentive to try and fleece the Texans for moving up one spot, by the way.

Especially if the Colts are at number 3. They could move back to three and almost guarantee the number one player on their board is available. If they even hint the Colts are trying to jump the Texans, and the Texans want Bryce Young, they will have to give the Bears as much as the Colts would in order to move up.

Let's not forget how dumb this win was today.

Right, but if you're QB-needy like a lot of teams are, there's good reason to try and move up to get the #1 overall seed, because other teams will want him and therefore, will look to do the same thing.

Especially since teams know that the team picking #2, is also QB-needy.

Understandable but doesn’t mean he was for sure our pick when there’s been rumors of both Bryce and CJ being in houston this past week.

Hell, we could go defense in the draft.

Well now you’ve made your bed Nick. You blew it, so you better sit there at 2 and take your medicine. The top pick for the Texans should always have been Young or 2024.

I suspect the Bears trade down and Young goes to Seattle/Indy now. Draft Anderson and go QB in 2024. Texans set themselves back at least one year for a meaningless game. Congrats bozos.

Not sure there’s many teams willing to move up for Bryce. This might end up being a weird draft

Would be a massive mistake to wager the 1.2 against one game. Stroud struggled with pressure his whole career. One game doesn’t change that risk.

Either take Young because he’s there at 2 and you believe he’s a franchise QB, or take Anderson and aim for QB in 2024.

Another thing folks are forgetting - this isn’t just the 1.1 vs 1.2, it’s every round. It isn’t just control at the top, but also control at day’s ends and with teams wanting to jump up in round 2 as well as other latter rounds.

Would be an interesting consideration to swap our second overall pick for 2 firsts, 2 seconds, 2 thirds and the like. Especially if the Texans feel that the player they'd be drafting (had they gone first, overall) won't be there at 2.

Cuz we coulda traded down and picked up more picks. That's what I thought woulda been the best move. Suck 1 more year have 3 first next year including number 1 overall.

That's a huge jump though. Draft position changes things when trading.

I think it'd cost the Texans the Browns first next year.
