That seems nuts. I would hire him on Tuesday if he got fired on Monday. I see his work with Tua. Draft Bryce and let them go to work.
That would absolutely idiotic. Broncos would be thrilled to have him fall in their lap. Dude is an elite coach
The dolphins are in the midst of a pretty bad collapse... and if the team has somewhat quit on him, or his tactics are no longer getting through, this is when these sort of decisions happen. Of course there's also the whole Tua 'unrecognized' concussion stuff and how that was all handled (bungled) initially. He's also been fairly adversarial with the media and admittedly doesn't do much oversight for the rest of the team other than the offense. Is that a head coach? Or basically a really good offensive coordinator/assistant head coach.
So, Caserio HAS, in fact, been the one doing the hiring? Despite what we've heard from posters here? In that case, he can go, too. I'm really on the fence, but I'd be fine if he went. Lovie has to be gone.
Did we fire him yet? “There are a lot of internal questions on Lovie Smith’s viability as a head coach…” There should be no questions. No one with common sense thinks he’s the (short or long term) answer. No one is hiring Lovie Smith. So you’re gonna keep Lovie Potentially change his staff Potentially draft a QB And then probably fire Lovie and said new staff next year (or year after) Spoiler Caserio can go as well. Get away from the Patriots once and for all. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/texas-sports-nation/brian-t-smith/article/Houston-Texans-Lovie-Smith-Nick-Caserio-future-17699900.php “McNair is 10-38-1 as the big cheese since 2019, while burning through head coaches, quarterbacks, GMs, interim leaders, power-obsessed rulers and super-lame scapegoats. Now, that’s a truly fireable offense.” …“McNair is one decision away from allowing his losing GM to handpick a third HC since Jan. 27, 2021. You can insist that Smith has to go. I can factually keep pointing out that it’s unheard of in the NFL for a first-time GM with a 6-26-1 record to burn through the starting QB that he drafted and two HCs before year three begins. In the real world, Caserio would be canned with Smith. And any stockholder of a decent Fortune 500 company would be screaming, tweeting and livestreaming the same thing: Fire the $#@&%! CEO and fix this failing company. Now.”
If Dolphins fire McDaniel it'll be because they have a secret agreement with Sean Payton to come like they had last year prior to the lawsuit
Smith opened each team meeting in camp with a slide proclaiming the Texans would be 2022 World Champs. But their performance, even for a young team searching for a franchise quarterback, has been a disappointment. The roster is young and there is little high-end talent. But the hope had been to build the right way. Sources say frustration has mounted in the locker room and elsewhere in the building over many aspects of Smith's program, including overall operational struggles. It has spilled to their best players, such as receiver Brandin Cooks being stripped of the captaincy after trying and failing to get himself traded before November's deadline. General manager Nick Caserio hired both Culley and Smith (@Rudyc281 ) while undertaking a major rebuilding operation -- one that now has the Texans set up well in virtually every area except for instability at head coach. If the Texans job does open, the team could revisit candidates they interviewed a year ago, such as Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. Former Texans great and now 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans should also get a long look. And Houston figures to also look hard at offensive-minded coaches to groom their future at QB.
