A common mistake i see folks like to do is treat KPJ and green as equals. They aren't one is a 4th year vet while the other is a 2nd year. The biggest issue folk have with KPJ is that he is not being utilized properly and the futile attempt to make him a pg hinders the development of everybody else. It also triggers folk that silas favors kpj so much that he is able to do stupid sht and not get pulled while Sengun gets pulled for making an error.
FG% and EFG% tells you how well a player shoots when he doesn't draw a foul. It's useful in situations when fouls may not get called.....like in the playoffs.
You can't use ts% for small snipets like that. It's like saying the odds of a coin flip isn't 50/50 because you got two heads in a row. The multipliers work because they are a statistical average. That's why single game ts% is stupid. Ts% works over a larger sample size like the average for an entire season.
This only makes sense if the player is notorious flopper or foul baiter. Let me ask you this. Why does Green get to the line at a higher rate than his peers? Is it baiting? Or is it an inmate talent that helps in in other areas also as a player? I asked this multiple times with no answer. What is it about Green that gives him one of if not the highest ftr amounts his peers at least amongst wings and guards?
Green is averaging 1.6 fouls per game. Giddey is averaging 2 fouls per game. In other words, neither is averaging enough fouls to impact their playing time. So yeah, why does it matter that Green has fewer fouls? Can you explain that? While you're at it, can you explain the significance of a 0.2 difference in turnovers per game? Can you also explain why you're so quick to ignore a significant difference in rebounding as well as the difference in assists?
True or false. In the playoffs, refs are known to swallow their whistle much more than in the regular season.
I'm not ignoring it at all. Let's look at the difference in TS% between Giddey and Green. Green's TS% is 53.4. Giddey's is 52.7. Green's is obviously better, but in terms of the big picture, I think most people would rather have Giddey's inferior TS% since it comes with superior playmaking and far superior rebounding (and 0.2 more turnovers per game).
Sure, he gets to the basket more often than his peers. Maybe because of his first quick step. Or maybe because he's such a poor shooter from the field that he's forced to attack the rim.
I do feel sorry for the die hard Jalen Green defense squad, they put forth SOOO much more effort defending him than he puts forth defending on the court. If he doesn't become at least a halfway decent player soon, I fear for their mental health. Clearly this season has taken a toll on them already.
Lol then NBA defenses would adjust and sag off him which would make it even harder to get to the rim. Also I just checked ftr for 2022 playoffs vs regular season just to **** you up about a totally irrelevant matter you bring up: 2021-22 reg season - .24 ftr 22 playoffs - .28 ftr You simply can't acknowledge any positive thing about Green. Is it that hard for you to say that Green is the most adept at beating perimeter defenses off the dribble amongst his class? Is it that difficult for you to acknowledge? Does it hurt your soul?
The Frontal Lob is fully developed in the 30's and nothing says that development is different or greater in the 30's or the 20's and the frontallob really has jack **** to with any of this. "The frontal lobes, home to key components of the neural circuitry underlying “executive functions” such as planning, working memory, and impulse control, are among the last areas of the brain to mature; they may not be fully developed until halfway through the third decade of life " A lot of 20 year olds games are more developed and a lot of 20 year olds games never get more developed but somehow you know Green has this great leap in him? Why? Its amazing how you pull **** out of your ass to make a point I guess you depend on most people not actualy fact checking you and you can drown them with made up **** that sounds logical.
So ya, again, on average the difference in development as a NBA player is much different between a 20 and 21 year old than a 29 and 30 year old. You really want to debate anything even absurd takes like you claiming it's all the same.
I am not even sure that's 100% true. Luka's FTA is about the same or higher in the playoffs, Giannis is higher, Lebron is higher. Hell Giannis averaged like 14 freethrows a game in the finals against the Suns when he won that championship. I think Kawhi also shot a ton more freethrows the year he won with the Raptors than regular season.
Statistically it isn't true as ftr in the playoffs is typically higher but there are confounding factors there also. Players are more aggressive and more tired legs might mean more using hands play defense instead of staying in front by moving feet quickly.
I don't want to give up on Jalen but history is not on his side if we're expecting him to become a star.
