So, to recap, we can't shoot, we don't play defense and we don't consistently play team ball. Ego was right we need a new coach ASAP. DD
I honestly think Morey is living rent free in his head, and he's determined to fit a circle (KPJ) into a square hole (competent, efficient, good basketball player) just so he can have a claim to fame moment like Morey did with turning Harden into a superstar. Too bad we've seen 39054820398472093748 examples of why that won't happen, except this management is adamant on forcing it into existence. As each day passes the more my original fear of what would happen with Tilman owning this team becomes realised.
Super young, sure. Maybe they have high variance to the upside. But maybe it's also to the downside. Maybe during his second year in college people would have figured Jabari Smith should be forced to put the ball on the floor, or that if you back off Jalen Green and let him shoot jumpers it's probably fine for you, and those guys aren't drafted as highly... These are things that could have happened.
I feel like he thought all he needed to do in the summer was gain weight to get stronger, and that everything else in his game was okay. Hope this season is a rude awakening for him, you can't take anything for granted in the league. If your skills aren't improving, you are getting worse.
This team has no direction, you can still lose AND teach something along the way. I dont see any teaching or growth in the team game. Someone fade me, as I have lost all COLOR.
If it's pop, he would have kicked these kids' asses for iso n not listening…so back to the square one, it's hc's job to let them realize, unfortunately, silas standing w folded arms seeing everything in a free fall slow motion. Sighs…nice guy always hurts himself n others big time, in this very case nice guy messes up our rebuilding, teach nothing to these kids.
Y'all Silas ain't going nowhere. He just said in the post-game conference with a smile, "This is going to be a fun thing once we put it all together."
There is a lot of truth to this. It's why most of the highest draft picks are guys with 1 year of college or just little info on them, the potential is what is sold. You rarely seeing guys with 3 and 4 years going in the top 10. Biggest problem this team is just the lack of vets. There's one vet we have, Ego, and he's clearly checked out. It's crazy people think they should continue developing like this versus bringing in Harden (if he wanted to come back) it is truly the blind leading the blind out there.
We definitely should run the offense through Sengun. He is the one player that make his teammates better. Also he is the most efficient. Eric Gordon is not a good veteran leader.
He won’t be here to see/coach “it”. (And some of these current players may not either.) And I’m not talking about “putting it together” for a quarter or a game or even 5 games or 15 games…
