    Why wouldn't he?

He's gonna get blamed for everything no matter what and there aren't any other leaders in the team.

Kevin Porter Jr: "As a leader, as a point guard of my team, I got to make sure we prepare and come out the right way and I didn't do that today. That's on me."

Yet folks need to make a thread of how folks are being too mean to kpj.

Self proclaimed leaders and alphas especially on losing teams is always a sign of weakness and disaster. And he did this publicly LMAO

When you're this bad, you don't have an actual leader and alpha. everyone is trying to literally find their roles. it's that simple. You've won 10 games. might not want to tell the world proclaiming yourself a leader/head huncho of a pathetic 10 wins

EG no improvement. KPJ-head huncho. what's next

So in your mind, it makes sense to blame Green and Smith being terrible on KPJ rather than just acknowledging that they are struggling young players?

I mean, I get it, you want to hold on to hope that those two are top tier prospects, but you can do that while acknowledging their current struggles are their fault.

Right now KPJ flat out is better than Smith or Green. It's not particularly close even.

That doesn't mean that they can't improve one day.

    KPJ: "I'm the head honcho"

ApacheWarrior: "KPJ going to take a back seat when everyone else gets better at basketball"

I don't know Bruh... I've always said that KPJ should be more Mad Max and less James Harden, but that will not be an easy evolution after the way this coaching staff has enabled him. Crossing my fingers.

At this point I would not be surprised if rockets offer kpj head coach position or gm. Trying to carve a leader from the most sulking player, that’s really something.

this dude did not just proclaim himself the leader and head honcho…

if KPJ is your leader, u are in a really bad place and are truly fcked

on no other team, and with no other organization, would he dare utter those words…they wouldn’t even allow him to be under the delusion that he’s the leader

Glad to see our franchise player taking accountability. Glad to have KPJ wearing Rockets red.

KPJ has no place on the bench of any other team in this League and here he has proclaimed himself “the leader”. Amazing.
I still don't see a rebuilding process, I see a systematic deterioration of all aspects of the team. With KPJ as "leader" and Silas as coach, the result could be even worse.

I wouldn’t say he has no place on the bench of any other team…scorer and secondary playmaker off the bench is what he should be

the way he has been propped up and elevated on this team and within this organization is a sight to behold…to the point he thinks he’s head honcho

just an amazing quote coming from him, and an embarrassing quote for the organization

this is where we’re at now…KPJ is the leader and head honcho

So if Green and Jabari are horrible or not NBA caliber ready then what is KPJ, a below avg caliber NBA player?

When you say its not close you make it seem like KPJ is 97' version of Shaq and Jabari/Green are rookie 7ppg Kobe

KPJ has a lot to improve on as well, and since those two core pieces are playing so horribly KPJ should go super saiyan mode and drop 50 pieces like he did that one time against Milwaukee like a true alpha leader does

Why wouldn't he consider himself the "leader"? Silas has set him up that way. The real question is will his fragile psyche be able to handle it when a real coach is brought in and he is no longer the "leader" of the team. Can he handle a lesser role?

Well, he's right in a sense. He can lead a team to be the worst in the NBA

Of course KPJ has a lot to improve on, he's not a finished product either.

When i say it's not close, I'm not saying KPJ is doing all that well, I'm pointing out just how bad Smith and Green have been.

Mediocre is significantly better than terrible.

Head honcho of Houston Rocket basketball failure right now. what a joke. when I see him trying to bark orders from the bench or on the court I just laugh. his play is so selfish, oftentimes lazy, and annoying. but ironically I hope he plays better so we can package him
