all depends on where the bar is for top draft pix...

i am convinced we want to be in at least that 'worst 3' position...

i think Tilly would WANT to go over the total - IF he can do so without losing 'worst 3' status...
(he owns a casino... he knows his teams future bets... he wants people to win on the rox - good pr with his gambling buddies... BUT not gonna jeopardize the bigger picture - but if he can squeeze that little benefit he'll take it...)

but... based on previous years and the Wemby buzz... it looks like that number will have to be under to secure worst 3 - or even worst 5...

so... i believe its gonna be under...

so far 'tanking teams' have made some efforts to try to sprinkle a few wins around (lest Silvers threat against openly tanking...) but i think its gonna get to looking really ugly down the stretch as people jockey for those few additional % pts in the draft...

I said the same thing at the time .... 24.5 was a tough number.

I still think its very close to their total at seasons end.

Vegas isn't in the business of giving money away, they are usually close for just about every team.

Yeah, I took the over in Vegas too. I’m sweating it. Really expected them to be a little better than they have been so far. Oh well. It’s only money!

It’s particularly hard to predict with a talented but extremely young team. Literally a hand full of bonehead plays could swing the total between 22-27 wins.

With a group this young, I think you have to expect the worst ....

I've been watching this franchise & the league as a whole since 1970, the year before the team moved to Houston.
In that time, I cannot recall a single team that had so many young players on its roster, much less so many that were being counted on for heavy rotation minutes and so few veterans, and zero veterans of quality.

It's rare that teams have 3 or more (#1) picks in a draft and unheard of to do that in back to back years and then add KPJ & Nix to those 7 total picks in that two year span .... The only example that's remotely close is the Thunder who have 5 (#1) picks in the past two drafts and the Magic had 5 picks between 2000 & 2001
In 19 & 20 the Celtics had 6 total picks but traded 2 of those away.

To put this in perspective, the "trust the process 76ers" had 7 #1 picks over the course of 4 years.

To me, it almost feels like Morey is still running the show here because philosophically, this feels like a Morey all or nothing way of doing business.

Just voted, went with over 24.5... I'm just really positive all of a sudden, don't know why. But I am.

It's more than just coaching. There is a possibility here that the roster isn't nearly as talented as everyone thought. Another top three pick isn't just a nice luxury, but one last chance to draft a cornerstone for several years.

The players has lost their confidence and the coaches are not helping them and they do not have the veterans to help them either. Stone needs to make moves soon or WE will not win over 24 games…embarrassing

Probably but is not inconceivable that they will do five games better in the second half than the first. 10-31, 15-26. The first part of their schedule was especially brutal and now that Sengun and Green are starting to click they could improve.

Hot take: If we fire Silas by Feb 1st, then I'm still taking the over.

Turns out I was WAY too optimistic about Jalen Green and Jabari Smith. I bought into the hype about Smith and was fooled into thinking the hot streak at the end of last season by Green was real.

Oh well, at least we'll have another shot at a top draft pick, hopefully we won't blow this one.
