An old school red and gold Rockets uniform oddity

    This is for all you rockets uniform enthusiasts out there.

    Well, I just got a copy of the 86-87 season opener vs the Lakers, and to my surprise, I learned that the Rockets did indeed, for one game, wear a home jersey with the word "Houston" on the front. I had to do a double-take when I saw this because I wasn't exactly paying attention for it.

    I took a couple of screen shots and thanks to Dave2000 and his hosting abilities, they should be up soon.

    yo dude ive been like asking everybody i know to see if they know where to get copies of old basketball games, can you please tell me where u got this copy, and if its the olny one then could i borrow it or buy a copy of it please ill appreciate it thanks

    Wasn't it just the new uniforms that don't have Houston on them? :confused:

    nope, the new jerseys ONLY have Rockets on them road and home. The Blue Swingman throwback Nike came out with had Houston on it, but thats normal since the road jerseys did have Houston on it.

    So they only wore "houston" on their home jersey just that one time???

    BTW, who can name the player standing next to Hakeem??? (i know)

    Don't know if he would do it or not... but it would be sweet to hear Gene Peterson give up a "sweet lue for two!" to Tyrone the way he used to do for Lew Lloyd. :)
