I dont get it. How does it make sense to make any changes. This is the last year of controlling rocket owned first round pick. If there is any year to be really bad, its this one. The bigger picture is clear, why we worried about this season or last or Silas. Are young players developing under silas and his staff, i think so.

Tanking doesnt work if you dont draft right and you cant do it forever. But one more year of top 3 pick is great and we can move on from there.

It's starting to look like we drafted badly.

    Nobody wants to say it.

Ok actually a lot of people love to say it, it's the internet

I agree completely hopefully they’ll be some changes in the off-season and before trade deadline

    Nobody is saying anything...

... because nobody gives a **** about our boring, irrelevant hard to watch team that is no closer to having a star or being relevant than it was 2 years ago.

Lol there is a lot of hardcore NBA analyst content that covers contenders to rebuilding teams.

The NBA is one of the most popular sports leagues in the world. There is a plethora of content from non-Rocket fandom analysts that have covered the rebuilding process of the team.

And those type of analysts are probably the most grounded and nuanced due to them not only covering contenders

There certainly is a lot of content and the Rockets are almost never mentioned other than by their assigned beat writers

I posted last week - Zac Lowe finally did a Rockets segment for the first time all season last week - but it was bc of Harden.

The Wizards had a segment already this season.

    The Wizards.

We are down with the Spurs and Pistons in terms of having garbage young "cores". Probably beneath Detroit. Sochan might be better than anyone we drafted this year

There have been multiple Athletic and SI podcasts that stared the Rockets nailed their top 4 draft picks of the past 2 seasons(Green, Sengun, Jabari, Eason)

I sincerely think you have no clue how 19-21 year olds are supposed to look even potential star to superstar 19-21 year olds.

You probably look at Luka and see anyone below him at age 20 isn't going to be a star.

By who - Kelly Iko? Lololol.

Anyway who cares - this team ****ing sucks as much if not more than before and you spend all of your time on this board cherry picking 38% shooting stretches - 38%! -to try to pretend that Green has not been a bust this year.

This should tell you things are not going great more so than podcast mentions

You shoot out numbers with no relative comparison to players his age with his experience.

How is Green doing in terms of scoring efficiency and volume relative to players that people claim are his archetype at his age?

Well the flip side to that is the tanking worked for the Spurs who got Duncan and won 5 titles in in 18-20 yr span

So what is your point exactly?

The thing is, no matter how hard you work and blah blah there is only going to be one champion at end of the day, no matter how many second rounders and J Butlers you try to assemble

Usually the teams with top end talent with decent bench wins the titles, and those teams are built from a variety of ways mixed with tanking or signing big time free agents or drafting a gem or signing undrafted player or gambling on a player who had a down season and bounced back

The process is like a big pot of gumbo and it is never finished as it goes year to year basis

You just hope to set yourself up to be able to compete in a perpetual 4 yr stretch increments while still having to make shrewd moves to keep those type of stretches going similar to how Lakers did from 1979-2010

im pretty much in lockstep with you...
Ive said kpj is a 6th man... hadnt really considered bringing up TyTy to start - but makes sense... give him the development, get some actual pg play happenin... and any of his shortcomings play into our tank...

set up the rotation using bruno as wemby and tyty as scoot... so folks can get acclimated to their ongoing roles... then plug in whoever we get in the draft - and add the other position via fa or trade...

I don't think Bruno is good for our guards honestly. He jumps high and that's literally it. He has poor touch around the rim and he sets horrible screens.

A must for this team is having bigs who set good screens.

Sengun, Garuba and Boban are much better at that than Bruno.

Only problem I have with your plan is, why do you want to put your most consistent player on the bench or trade him?

I think a better plan would be just to fire Silas and let Lucas coach the team on an interim basis

Oh is this the thing where we liketake the sample size of like Moses Malone and Kobe Bryant and then pronounce him as all good because there's no such thing as a bad end of that spectrum?

Here's the thing, there will be one day soon and he might be it.

Regardless of archetype comparisons - Kobe Bryant is dead man. Right now Jalen Green is alive and is barely looking better than 2021-22 Jalen Green.

That's not good or within expectations

No dip ****. I didn't mention Kobe once.

Obviously his trajectory is somewhere between those players and Kobe. That's a wide gradient. Also all those players played in the modern era of no long twos.

These threads are interesting intellectual exercises, but there's no way management is making these sort of wholesale changes in hopes of improving enough to likely get the 7th/8th pick instead of likely top 5 pick. Not happening, this is all part of the rebuild plan, so hunker down.
